How to fertilize Butcher's Guzmania
Most potting soils come with ample nutrients which plants use to produce new growth.
By the time your plant has depleted the nutrients in its soil it’s likely grown enough to need a larger pot anyway.
To replenish this plant's nutrients, repot your Butcher's Guzmania after it doubles in size or once a year—whichever comes first.

Flower’s finally dying #Guzmania #Bromeliad I don’t know how old the plant is but when I adopted this back in April it was in full bloom. Its also been in the same pot, so at least 5 months. The mama plant is finally dying off but I think these are pups at the base. Should I cut the flower off now or wait? Should the pups be separated and repotted or left where they are.

should my airtaffed trumpet plant look like this?

There is a separate bract growing on the side. Can they be separated and if so when/how? #Guzmania

Why is my bromeliad losing its color? It’s growing really well but the color is fading and tips are turning brown. Help!

Jonnu is looking rough… #Guzmania #Bromeliad anyone know what’s going on with this baby? I was told by the seller it’s normal aging, but it keeps getting browner. I tried reducing time it spends under the grow light and increasing water. The ends of all the leaves are starting to curl also.

Trimming the fat!! After almost a year (very bad, I know) I’ve finally gotten around to trimming all the dead leaves off of my Guzmania. It was flowering when I bought it and it did last quite a while, but inevitably it did die back and send up two babies. The mother plant is all but dead (suuper dry since its by a radiator and the pebble tray was not cutting it), but the babies are still looking green with a bit of a slow growth rate but I’m hopeful. Hopefully with those dead leaves out the way the babies can be more of the focus!! #HappyPlants #PlantsMakePeopleHappy #PlantAddict #NewGrowth #PropagationStation #PlantTherapy #Guzmania #guzmanialingulata #babyplants #PUPdates #pups

My blooms are drying out and seem to be dying! What should I do? #Guzmania

The flower has faded from bright red to lavender. It’s not crunchy like it’s dying, just really faded. Not enough sun? Too much sun? Something else? #Guzmania
