Hardy Fig Tree
About Hardy Fig Tree
Did you know that all plants in the Ficus genus produce figs? In fact, the word Ficus quite literally means figs! Even cooler, all figs are pollinated by tiny wasps that use the fruits as a safe place to raise their young. 🐝 Ficus plants also contain latex which emerges as a milky sap when twigs are broken. This latex makes them toxic, so be sure to keep a close eye out if you have children or pets!

How to fertilize Hardy Fig Tree

Most potting soils come with ample nutrients which plants use to produce new growth.
By the time your plant has depleted the nutrients in its soil it’s likely grown enough to need a larger pot anyway.
To replenish this plant's nutrients, repot your Hardy Fig Tree after it doubles in size or once a year—whichever comes first.

is it bad to get water on the leaves? #Ficus i accidentally left my fig outside while it rained for around. minute (thank goodness it was light rain,) but now my figs are squishy, and the main fig looks damaged. is there anything i can do for her?

Did I kill it? #Ficus #hardyfig Super amateur here. My sister bought me a Chicago hardy fig tree in March. I went to the local garden center and got all the right soil and fertilizer and the right size pot. Put it outside where there's lots of sun. Water or rain regularly. But now, maybe 6 weeks later, the little leaves that were on it when it came are now shriveled and dry. It's been a bit cold at night (40s mostly, but one or two nights it was in the mid 30s), and sometimes windy, but overall not so cold that the plant shouldn't be able to handle it (I think). Can anyone help me figure out what I'm doing wrong?

My leaves keep turning brown and falling off #Ficus

Today was my little sister's birthday! She's three now. I let her choose a plant from my favorite store, as well as one for myself (since I can't miss a chance for a plant grab). Im welcoming Zha'thik! (Shout out to @Prentyce, they were responsible for the name suggestion on a different plant a month ago.) Zha'thik is my first ever #Ficus! I would like tips and tricks about caring for this species. I know they need pruning sometimes and things like that, but I don't know the specifics. Thanks in advance! #rubbertree #happyplants #plantsmakepeoplehappy #plantaddict #planttherapy #plantcorner #plantlove #iloveplants #newgrowth #planttlc #greggang #adhdplantlovers

I bought this Ficus Ginseng Bonsai plant, it arrived today in a 12cm nursery pot. As I am new to Bonsai I was wondering what type of pot and style for this as needing repotting. Also type of soil to use also. #Ficus #Ginseng #typeofpot #soil #best-place-for-it

First time owner of this species! #Ficus I just bought my first string of frogs about one and a half weeks ago! I've never owned this species before, nor anything similar, so I need a few tips. His leaves are starting to feel crunchy in some spots, and I'm concerned about moisture loss. I did buy him at the Seattle Flower and Garden Convention (I have no idea if that's the actual name of it, but it's big) so he might be having a climate shock. I'm currently in northern Idaho and we're starting to move into warmer, sunnier weather. Will he recover just fine on his own, or should I help him out?

Hello! I'm begining to get yellow leaves at the bottom of my plant, any advise would be helpful. Thank you! #Ficus

Ficus Elastica #ficus Does this brown, hard part where the new leaves would normally sprout mean that it’s dying or won’t produce new leaves? It’s very hard. Its leaves are very large now and weighing down rather than being perky. I’m not really sure what this plant needs, if anything! Any tips or thoughts?
