It finally came! Well, one part; the last part of my soil mix. Still waiting on the hydroguard… ugh… 😩 Why is it taking so long? 🙃🐌🩵🌸 In the meantime, I have finally finished repotting 72 plants and more to go… but I gotta take a little break. I got sweet pea flowers; I love the smell of sweet pea flowers. While they are super toxic to our furry friends, my dogs and cats have shown zero interest. Thank goodness! 😅 We now have sweet pea photos! Anyone growing sweet peas or anything else that smells so yummy and delicious? 😋 Ps- I’m so anxious today 😬 I’m supposed to have my soil delivery and my last thing I need for my water before I water my plants tonight. PLANT GIFT ALERT 🔔 ❤️ !!! I shared in an earlier comment that my parents are staying with us as they had to evacuate due to a wildfire (thank you firefighters!) This morning my step mom came with me to one of our plant shops to pick up a Aglaonema Spring Snow they found for me (a gift for a friend). I was gushing over some amazing huge Hoyas (a Krinkle and a Linearis) … not in my budget. What do yall think about this potting setup? This is how I got it from the seller. No drainage just leca on the bottom and moss on top. Should I change anything?

Just wanting to show off lol- been wanting a Ruby Ficus forever, and it finally got here today! Was worried b/cuz it took 10 days to get here- dang USPS…and it’s hot- 90’s. Of all the hoyas that have bloomed for me recently.... this is one I'm actually proud of. as in "I'm counting this one as an achievement" proud. Since I've heard the serpens can sometimes be difficult to bloom, I couldn't believe my eyes, when I saw some of the myriad peduncles they seem to put out "just in case" regularly were actually developing more. This one is actually the first of several peduncles about to bloom, and I can't believe my fuzzy cutsey luck. Each singular blossom is about the size of a leaf, making the comparatively huge peduncles surrounded by the tiny "snake" heads absolutely magnificent. Like with her daughter, the Mathilde, I'm not a fan of its fragrance, but really, who cares: One of my hoya serpens is in bloom! I will try to capture the whole plant when more peduncles are open, because the size difference between peduncles and leaves is so remarkable, but for now I was scared to move the plant until the blooms are fully open. #hoya #hoyahangout #plantsmakepeoplehappy #happyplants #pedunclewatch

It’s Wednesday at #TheWateringHole 🌿🌤️ Good morning everybody, or should I say good day [good evening, and goodnight!] ? After several days of ~95° 🥵 I am so very very grateful to be back down in the 70°s 😮‍💨 My plants, however, thought it was swell! As I was moving around my plants this morning I was thinking about the satisfying little tasks of plant care that are delightful. For me, one of my favorites is plucking off the totally brown and dried-up sheathes of cane begonia leaves. No force necessary, once they are brown and shriveled, I just touch them and they fall off in my hands. And I don’t *have* to do this, as they will fall off eventually by themselves, but it brings me joy. 🥰 Another one is when I water, and the saucer fills up but does not overflow, and later when I go to check all the water was sucked back up and the pot is the perfect “well-watered weight.” Do you have any small plant care tasks or activities that give you satisfaction or delight? Also, eeee, new Hoya callistophyla leaf 🥳 ⏱️Want to be notified of these posts when they come out? Had to repot my Snake rosettes because they were popping up out of the soil. Today I come out to water and I have a little pup!! I did not see it when I repotted- but it was there because I took a photo after I finished. Ted was so convinced that we were making coffee when I brought out one of our coffee trees; this is a propagation dwarf coffee plant for a friend. But Ted loves to help me make the coffee. He samples all the sweet stuff and sometimes things he gets a bean and spits it out. But Teddy loves to help.
