Good morning, plant people of earth! And #TheWateringHole 🍓 Today I went strawberry picking and brought a basket of bright red berries home with me. It was so fun and delicious. The berry plants looked so healthy! Pictures below ⬇️ 🌵 It’s also eating day for my beautiful succulents. I have 5 kinds. I had to tell the app that it’s not time to water my African violets yet, as they are still recovering from root rot.

Hello #thewateringhole friends! I was looking for a little humidity dome for my baby Alocasia Jacklyn today, and realized I could turn an old vase over and stick her under there until she grows a bit more. And as you can see, the bottom half of her semi hydro setup is currently a yogurt container- didn’t want to buy a whole setup when she will soon outgrow it. It made me think of other things I’ve repurposed for plants, such as the beautiful ceramic berry strainer for a little orchid I have, and a couple of thrifted bowls and plates I use as saucers, or to hold plants steady on a wire frame shelf. What things have you repurposed, on purpose or because needs- must? Happy Thursday #TheWateringHole! ☀️ I’m on summer break and today was all about plants (yippee! 🥳) So I wanted to share some of the fun I’ve had… 🌱 I took four different varieties of Philo Brasils that I had in separate small pots and potted them up in a single pot. They’ve been drying out super fast in their little pots, so 🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻 this will make my life easier. I also think they look sweet all together 🥰 🌱 The cuttings I took from my Hawaiian Pothos finally had enough roots, so I added them to a big pot with the mama plant. Again, hoping this will dry out slower than it has been. And I’m loving how big and lush it looks on top of our hutch 🤗 🌱 Last pic is my growing collection of planted cuttings to sell from our craft sale table in July. It’s so fun to see all these babies get settled into their pots 🪴 What’s going on in your oases today? How are you managing all of your summer growth? 🌱☀️ #debbiedo

I’m still new to the pothos world. My Albo pothos is a bit unruly and barely fitting in the window sill. Should I put some of the branches on a trellis or some kind of stake? Good Evening to ALL who may come across this post 😊 I have something I NEED to share with you guys 🤯 So on Tuesday, I went out on the front porch to water some plants 🪴 (I don’t go out there often because of the wasp and the heat this time of year) As I’m watering my smaller Bird of Paradise, I notice it’s REALLY leaning towards the stairs which makes it in the way when walking up or down. Therefore I thought why don’t I switch it with my banana tree so it’ll lean more towards the center. I lean over to pick it up and I’m trying to figure out WHY it won’t come out of the concrete pot?! 🤔 Usually the plants come right out, but not this time. So I’m pulling, I’m tugging, I’m wiggling, I’m leaning it every which way and NOTHING! Well FINALLY it lets loose!!! Believe it or NOT, the BOP roots had grown out of the drainage holes in the clay pot and into the cement pot 😳🤯😳 I cannot believe how big, thick, and healthy those roots are! It just blows my mind. I never would have thought that would happen. I mean I could have planted the BOP directly into the cement planter, but that thing is extremely HEAVY. So to make it easier, I just put the clay pot inside the cement pot! Now I have to do a repot 🤯🤯 And last year, I had a bunch of broken stems from my Easter and Thanksgiving Cactus. So I planted all of them in a little throw away container with some peat moss. Now the Thanksgiving Cactus wants to bloom?!? WHAT?? I’m sooo confused, yet sooo excited 😜 Last, but not least is my Lifesaver Cactus. Omg 🙈 my family got home at 3 a.m. this morning, and my niece was calling me at 9 a.m. to come get her so she could come steal my plants. 😂✨ She’s too cute! 🥰 Anyway, had to share my buddies I’ve been working on the last couple of days. It’s a little wild, but I was out working, and then all of a sudden they changed, and it was hailing. I’m sorry to say that I’m in the hospital having dislocated and broken my ankle while getting out of my car at the grocery store. Fortunately there were people ready to help and get me an ambulance and to the hospital. It looks like I’ll not be walking for the next five weeks and I’ll be in a senior living place and switching from there to the hospital. My daughter has come from New York to be with me but none of them are really plant people and Kate can’t be away from work that long. So I’m worried about my succulents. And I may not be able to have my puppies with me. So I’m trying to figure out a plan to get those two problems solved. I wonder if there are plant sitters like dog sitters which I may have found. My Mandevilla #BrazilianJasmine has taken off like its name Rocket and is flowering beautifully. I’ve had him a few years now. I love how he’s wrapped around the decorative lattice and growing up over the patio cover. Good evening everyone. I hope you are doing well. This is my blanket plant that I bought at the County master gardeners nursery about three months ago. It has not stopped blooming. A friend of mine also has one and hers has not stopped blooming either. Wow, I don’t think I’ve ever seen a plant bloom this much. Monstera problems I repotted my monstera a few weeks back, thought she’s enjoy a good soaping from the rain and now my leaves are turning yellow. 🥲I don’t know if it’s fungus because she only a little damp not wet inside. Happy Wednesday at #TheWateringHole my lovely plant people 🤍🌿 The last few days have been quite hot, so I am actually so thankful to see that starting tomorrow it looks like we’re due for almost a week of rain 😮‍💨 🙌 I have not done any laundry, or much else around the house because of the heat. 🥵 I have spent some time checking on my cucumeris mites though 🤓 I just love them. It’s supposed to be less than 90°F/32°C today, so today I play catch-up. Luckily for me, my adhd brain takes that as a challenge. 3 days of work in a few hours? Challenge accepted!! For pictures, we’ve got a new tortum leaf, a ridiculously long latifolia vine that I very much need to make a trellis for, some broadmite ICU patients (my poor beauty star 😭 but she’s hanging on! ) and an excellent microscope that attaches to your phone making taking and sharing pictures a piece of cake, and a picture from said microscope. Green circle is my beneficial predatory mite; the N. cucumeris, and red circle is a feeder mite. ⏱️Want to be notified of these posts when they come out? Hello everyone. It’s a hot one in Central Florida today. The heat index is 111 with an actual heat of 94. It started raining out, and it is cooling things down a little. I moved to a very rural area of Florida many years ago. I took all the swamp photos that I post. This is a photo of the Withlacoochee River which is lined with thousands of Cypress trees and is near my house. This photo is located off a bike trail. I have a question for you all on asparagus ferns. Mine was very very large and I chopped it back to try to make it more compact. It’s got a new huge branch growing and I’m wondering if I can put a wooden skewer in to keep it upright #HappyPlants #TheWateringHole
