I was over dropping off some caladiums to family and a few friends and just had to share how beautiful they have gotten. Three or four actually have flowers! Which is so exciting to me. Friday late afternoon here 🌅. Why is it I get a burst of energy around 4pm???🤷‍♀️ 💨 💪 . Just had to pot up these cuttings from a very large 🐼 Panda kalanchoe I hacked up last weekend 🐼. Did a little rearranging, a little sweeping 🧹. Now I’m tired and want to just sit and admire 🤫🤭🫣🤗🫠. I had a little side quest tonight while it was pouring outside. I had picked up these small plastic moss poles and figured I would try to attach one of my snow queen cuttings to see if I can train it to climb. It was my first time packing my own moss pole- I just used a simple sphagnum moss, soaking it for about 15 minutes before ringing it out. Not soaking wet, but definitely wet. I lightly tied the vine to the pole with the roots into the moss. I also used the Craft aroid mix from Grow queen. I’ve recently switched all my aroids to this mix and the plants seem to enjoy it as much as I do😂 A very fun first experience. Ive been absolutely loving my plants! I do gotta say…..everything about them is highly addicting. Happy Monday! I took a cutting from my mom’s prayer plant that was dead. Basically the only cutting with some life left. I stuck her in some water…. So I have a beautiful zebrina alocasia in my kitchen, and she’s gone absolutely wild this summer. The smallest leaf is the oldest leaf, and the largest is the youngest. You can see her growth difference. I LOVE monosilicic acid; it works beautifully for alocasias. This particular one, I’ve grown from a corm and is a few years old now. It’s a beautiful sunny Thursday here ☀️. A bit warm but not beastly hot 🥵 😮‍💨. Waiting for the afternoon breeze off the ocean 🌊 🌬️ to cool things off 🏖️. Tried posting earlier but poof 💨 it disappeared so here’s a quick mini version: my Moonshine philodendron hasn’t grown much all spring/summer. Protected southern window, Superthrive Pro, up-potted to 6” pot May 2024. Any advice? Pics of my encyclia orchid still in treatment/isolation for thrips 😖 . The first treatment (insecticidal soap with spinosad) didn’t go so well as I rubbed too hard evidently and stripped parts of some leaves 🍃 of protective coating. But he seems to be recovering ❤️‍🩹 and has some new growth so 😮‍💨 😌 😅!!! Last 2 pics are SOH cuttings, so sweetly sent by @stephongreg so I can have another go at trying to raise SOH 🩷🤍💚. The sphagnum moss pot is doing well 👍 although it’ll be a job getting them off the moss and into pots 😑. The soil prop pot should be good to go as is🫡👍. Roots growing UP?! Last week I took a couple of stems from my Pink Princess Philo, and put them in water, hoping for new roots. Chamging the water, the new roots caught my eye. I did not know these guys roots- grow UPwards!! Good morning! Question for all of my #HoyaHeads #TheWateringHole folks and others who are hoya obsessed! 🤩 Many of you remember my plant mail heuschkeliana variegated disaster (long story short, mail person set it behind my car and my husband ran over it. I had to start it all from cuttings again.) The cuttings are rooting and beginning to send out new leaves , but they’re completely white! I’m not quite sure what to do about it. Any tips? Good Evening, I love coming home to things like this- so I thought I’d share. Major progress on the Mint monstera. I’m 2 treatments into the Captain Jacks copper fungicide treatment and it seems to be working great. I was very unimpressed with the state of the this plant , but now I am happy. I think there’s a teeny fenestration that I see ?!😲. Anyways, I hope you had a great day!
