I move my plant away from the direct sun,wash out the soil, change the soil, use bottled water, I get growth, and the leaves still turn crispy. HELP!!!!!

??? You guys please help with my Rattlesnake Calathea. Her name is Regina (yes from Mean Girls) and she’s trying to kill herself. What am I doing wrong? She is never over/under watered, she’s in no harsh sunlight, and she literally lives in Tennessee so humidity isn’t a problem. Help?

Needs a lot of humidity and prefers distilled water instead of tap. Will likely brown edges without the two. Enjoy watching the leaves fluctuate throughout the day.

Despite being a calathea, it hasn’t self-amputated 50% of its body yet. Tips brown easily but leaves aren’t dropping. The rise and fall of leaves in its daily cycle are more noticeable than most of my calathea, which I really enjoy - makes me feel like it’s putting in a little work

What can I say - it’s a calathea. A little more dramatic than some, but not the most dramatic one I’ve had. I wouldn’t call it a beginner plant.

I don’t even know where to start. This plant was beautiful and I immediately fell in love however she just wasn’t enjoying my environment. So I cut all weak and dying leaves thinking oh well. Well I’m her own time she gave me 4 new leaves so I guess I’ll keep her and continue to watch her grow and mature. Getting the light vs water down was a task for me. But set her and leave her alone seemed to be ideal. I’m guessing the new foliage will acclimate better to my environment.
