Finding light for Calathea anulque in your home
a window
Calathea anulque may have difficulty thriving, and will drop leaves š, without ample sunlight.
Place it less than 3 feet from a south-facing window to maximize the potential for growth.
Select your region to see how the current weather in your area affects the placement of Calathea anulque in your home š”.
How to fertilize Calathea anulque
Most potting soils come with ample nutrients which plants use to produce new growth.
By the time your plant has depleted the nutrients in its soil itās likely grown enough to need a larger pot anyway.
To replenish this plant's nutrients, repot your Calathea anulque after it doubles in size or once a yearāwhichever comes first.

Calathea's yellowing leaves #calathea Hi there, another Drama Queen Calathea doing what she does best. š¤¦š¼š¤¦š¼ Few weeks ago I transferred my Calathea to semihydro (Lechuza PON) and it keeps shedding the smaller leaves at the bottom, they turn yellow and seem to rot. I thought I found its spot in the house but I was obbiously wrong. I have tried with grow lights but I have the feeling it doesn't quite like it. I can keep it under grow lights in cycles between 265 lux to to 750 lux (maybe a little bit more if I lower the lights but I am afraid to burn it). Humidity is on average between 50 to 60% (it can peak to more than 70 in the region where I live (Venice in Italy)). It has a humidifier (off these days of intense humidity) set between 50-60 and sits on a tray of pebbles with water. I water it with rain water or reverse osmosis water. I tried to put it outside but it was a disaster! Light can be an issue now that autumn is approaching and it is driving me crazy! What would you suggest? In the second photo you can see the pic of the yellow leaves. I have turned the grow lights back on today in desperation š¤¦š¼š¤¦š¼š¤¦š¼

I donāt know how to help my jungle velvet :( Hi so I got this plant about 3 weeks ago. I also got a humidifier and a digital thermometer to make sure the humidity and temp are right for her since I live in Colorado and it is consistently pretty dry here. I originally had her in a corner between a west facing window and a north facing window. She started to droop and her smaller leaves began to curl up and die. I thought it was because she was getting too much direct sunlight so I moved her to my kitchen window which is north facing. Some of the big leaves are getting crunchy and brown at the ends now too. I repotted her a few days after bringing her home into a 4 inch pot with drainage holes using a mix of FoxFarm Happy Frog soil for the base (70%), 20% perlite and 10% orchid bark. The roots looked pretty healthy when I repotted. I donāt know what Iām doing wrong with her and she has seemed to only get worse since I brought her home. I donāt know what to do to help her so any suggestions would be really appreciated! I really donāt want to kill her please help š #JungleVelvet #CalatheaCrew #Calathea #help #helpneeded

Hey Iām back with something cool! Itās Wednesday, and we are halfway through our week! Now it is time to decompress from all your worries and stress, for a new tag is here, #refreshwednesday! Honestly this tag is just to talk about plant related things to refresh and restart after half a week kind of just chill out? Y know. And now, How are you doing today, Iād really like to know! Honestly the week has been stressful with loads of work put on me š„ but this community is all I need to make my day! Anyway, on to plant related things, have you heard about how to fix youāre spider plant? Last week I completely obliterated spider plants here on #PlantRant , but I just heard the ultimate way! Iāve heard water conditioners do the trick! Iām ordering some, thatās one worry to take off my list! So⦠miracle grow. Killer or just not great? Well it depends on the type! Sometimes different types affect different plants! and you know I should do a test on that š§š§š§! But main point: killer or just not the best choice? Well, Iām happy with either opinions, one might say itās a killer, and while I donāt necessarily agree, we all can have different opinions! I think itās good if your just starting, but in the long run, itās not the best choice. All it does is speed up growth and make leaves flimsier. So, my answer? Yes and kind of no. Something cool about alocasias is when itās wintery or cold, you donāt really have to worry about brown tips or dropping of leaves, because thereās usually 1-2 leaves. Since they are in dormancy, theyāre saving energy! Just a little thing I like! For this one, Iād like your thoughts and opinions! What do you think is the most controversial plant? For me, Iād go cathlea. You either love them or hate them with a burning passion. Itās mostly for me, the spider mites. Their favorite plant to hitchhike on! What do you think š¤ Iād like to know! And this is Luke signing off, have a great rest of your week, and stick around for⦠THE PLANT RANT! Spots on Rose-Painted Calathea Meaning? Iāve had this calathea for nearly a month now. I recently noticed (~2 weeks ago) new these new spots. This is my first calathea, and Iāve heard people mention they can die easily. Should I be concerned? Does anyone know the potential causes? #Calathea #WHY

Water for Calatheas/Stromathe/Marantas? Serious, non-condescending question. Iāve started treating my water with water conditioner to use with my Calatheas, Stros and Marantas, as this was recommended by many. My question is how do these plants look so good insidebig box stores, with no crisping leaves, etc when I know they use straight garden hose water and donāt use humidifiers? Could leaf crisping be due to something else? Just thinking out loud. :) #Calathea #Stromanthe #Maranta

My first calathea. Easy to propagate by division, forgiving & great company. Yup, I said company! Listening to her leaves brush the wall & other plants as she goes to sleep at night made me feel less alone during the UK Covid lockdowns. My favourite plant child!
