Recently got a calathea medallion (2weeks or so) but I'm not sure if it's healthy or not. I see some brown spots here and there so would love your insights on how good it is doing. Thank you very much!

It looks beautiful (I'm a big calathea fan) I think the browning is from lack of humidity. Calatheas require a good deal of humidity so trying running a steaming hot shower for 10 minutes with the doors closed off and the calathea on the counter to soak in the humidity until the room settles to normal. Do it about 2-3 times a week depending on how dry your climate /house it and see if it improves. I let my soil dry completely out but I don't allow it to be completely dry but for maybe a day before wagering again.
Welcome & congrats! I agree with @KrunchyWrapz and would add to water her with distilled water. Calatheas are such drama queens.
2
