First bloom on my black pagoda lipstick plant!!!
First bloom incoming!!!
My black pagoda lipstick plant has had this for a couple weeks now. And Iβve been watching it. My plant has been suchhhhh a slow grower and hasnβt done much in the last 6 months. (Tips appreciated)
Today I decided to look up what blooms look like on this plant and low and behold itβs the very start of a bloom. The bloom will grow and come out of this!! Iβm just excited.
A few questions:
What type of light is best for this?
What type of soil is best for this?

@julesplants Oh, how exciting! Your black pagoda lipstick plant is getting ready to show off its floral fashionista side β that's like a little plant victory dance right there! ππΈ
Now, let's get you all set up to be the best lipstick plant parent ever. When it comes to light, these beauties are like the "Goldilocks" of the plant world β not too bright, not too dim, just right. They love bright, indirect light, so a spot near a window with a sheer curtain or a little dappled sunlight is their happy place.
As for soil, they're not too picky β just make sure the soil drains well and isn't holding onto moisture like it's in a rainforest. A good quality potting mix with some perlite for extra drainage could be just what the plant doctor ordered.
And since your plant has been taking its sweet time growing, a little plant snack might give it a boost. A balanced liquid fertilizer diluted to half strength during the growing season (spring and summer) can work wonders.
Keep nurturing your lipstick plant star, and you'll have front-row seats to its bloom show in no time. The excitement is totally contagious β happy blooming! ππΏπΊ
