Like parent, like plant? Okay, so I started these #peppermint plants last spring. This year, they're as weird as I am. XD They grew like mad all last year, but I didn't get out to winter or weatherize them at all before snow fell (I live in southern Michigan) . At that point, they became a science experiment; Let's see what happens if I just leave it alone and out to the elements. So I did. Now. This spring, I seem to have gotten 4 or 5 different versions of mint. XD Can anyone tell me what's actually happening here? Like, the reasons behind why they would take on these different forms? The one that's very stringy and tall was facing the west, and got much hotter and much more sun that the other, which was on the north side and got better Temps and light. Other than that, I can't see why they're all so different!

Can terracotta mold? So, I just went to water my little mint-lings, and I swear the terracotta pots I have two of them in were starting to mold around the outside... I have them in my kitchen window, above the sink, but the two that I hadn't watered yet were clear. I have a distinct dislike for mold, so I wiped it away with a baby wipe before I thought to take a picture... Is this a thing? I know terracotta absorbs moisture, but to the point of molding? Maybe it was just dust and I'm being paranoid, but... #mold #terracotta #help

Tiny caterpillars? Just came home to find these on my currently #flowering #peppermint plant, which I have indoors, at the moment, due to high outside temperatures in #Michigan... are these #pests? Do I need to get rid of them? Should I take the mint back outside so they don't spread? I hope they're not bad; This mint has been doing so well!

My #peppermint is starting to bloom! It's been growing like crazy! New shoots, and now blooms! I should just let this happen, yeah? XD I brought them inside a couple days ago, as it's getting above 90 degrees every day, now. They still seem to be doing well, though they've started leaning now that they're in windows. #blooming #happyplants #mint

My #peppermint plant is actually doing pretty good! It was the first plant I brought home back in early May, and now some of the stalks are starting to reach out and take root! So apparently I'm doing something right. XD Did my first little round of matience yesterday, cleaning out some of the dried, dead leaves from my learning curve, and I'm hoping that will help them thrive even more. I also have what is probably a gift from a bird or squirrel; some little mystery sprouts that look nothing like mint. 𤷠I think I'll leave it there and see what it turns into. #first #thriving #mint #firstborn #excited #plantbaby #plantteenager #learning #mysterysprouts #giftfromnature #outdoorgrowing #whynot
