Alocasia 'Jacklyn'
About Alocasia 'Jacklyn'
Alocasias, commonly known as Elephant Ears, are some of the most common houseplants although their leaves can reach enormous sizes when grown outdoors! 🐘 They typically only support a few leaves at a time (more, when they get more sun!) so don't be concerned if you see an old leaf begin to retire after a new one emerges. They grow out of underground corms which are similar to bulbs, so next time you repot keep an eye out for baby Alocasias! They contain calcium oxalate crystals so be sure to keep them out of reach if you have children or pets! ⚠️

Good morning all! I'm so happy this morning! My husband works maintenance for the complex where we live and on occasion people will move out and abandon their plants. One guess where they end up. 😁 On June 27th he brought me this Alocasia Jacklyn. All of her leaves were crunchy aside from 1 that still had a bit of green in it. I honestly didn't think she was going to make it. This morning I went outside to check on her and would you LOOK! 👀 NEW GROWTH!! Thank you Lord! ❤️ I never thought I would be so tickled over a plant but here I am! 🥹 #alocasiajacklyn #newgrowth

#NewGrowth #spidermites My alocasia is having new growth, but also recovering from spider mites. Any tips? I’ve been treating her with neem oil. Still haven’t repotted her.

is she dead? (the watering notes on greg are incorrect. i water every 7 days and was last watered a week ago) she had three leaves (last pic for reference), then two, we moved to ATL two weeks ago and then the stems began wilting further and were soft at the base (near the root) and the leaf turned light green but stem was firm near the leaf. roots are white and don’t smell and are not soft. i repotted in leca and perlite mix. but I cut it off and this is what is left (second pic is a super zoom) #HappyPlants #AlocasiaAddicts #alocasiajacklyn #Alocasia

Look at Jackieeeee!!! Once I put a mini pond outside in my entrance, I started moving plants outside since I was spending so much time next to it. The plant room was also getting really crowded and Jackie wasn’t thriving or declining in there. Well, moved her outside in part sun…WOW! I mean, wow! She just loves it!! I just returned from vacation & what a beautiful, huge leaf!!! 😍😍😍 #HappyPlants #PlantsMakePeopleHappy #PlantAddict #NewGrowth #PlantTherapy #RarePlants #AlocasiaAddicts #alocasiajacklyn #GregGang #Greggers
