About Alocasia 'Dragon Scale'
Alocasias, commonly known as Elephant Ears, are some of the most common houseplants although their leaves can reach enormous sizes when grown outdoors! 🐘 They typically only support a few leaves at a time (more, when they get more sun!) so don't be concerned if you see an old leaf begin to retire after a new one emerges. They grow out of underground corms which are similar to bulbs, so next time you repot keep an eye out for baby Alocasias! They contain calcium oxalate crystals so be sure to keep them out of reach if you have children or pets! ⚠️

I got what I think is either a silver dragon or dragon scale alocasia and I believe it’s VERIGATED I’m so excited!! I had to repot her a few hours after I got her cause I noticed bug eggs EVERYWHERE in the soil and I’m glad I did because the pot was too large and some roots were rotting so fingers crossed all goes well *found at walmart*

I overwatered my dragon scale plant and all the leaves are gone. What should I do now?

New to planting! Any tips for my first silver dragon? I just got this and it came with an auto water pot, it has a wick in the bottom to self water supposedly, I am completely new to caring for plants , is there anything I need to be on the look out for or that I need to buy? The soil was very dry when I brought it home as well , should I look into other soil or let it roll with what it came with? Thanks!

Great news! My original Alocasia dragonscale mother plant grew his leaves back!!!! How exciting! This has been such a long journey to get back to where he has leaves again! For anyone who is new to this journey: First it started off a really healthy plant! But I had to be in the hospital for a month and had a sitter and it ended up rotted by the time I got back home. So I cut off the rot and the dying leaves as well as gave it a repot to check out the roots. It gave me some corms that I potted up. After a while of thinking it was completely dead I seen bulbils pop up!! I was soooo happy! The bulbils turned into stems which then turned into leaves! You’re also more than welcome to see this plants journey on my profile! But what an amazing turn around! I’m so overjoyed! #HappyPlants #BeforeAndAfter #PlantsMakePeopleHappy #PlantAddict #NewGrowth #PlantTherapy #GrowLights #PlantLove #Indoorplants #AlocasiaAddicts #Alocasia #AlocasiaDragonScale #GlowUp #TropicalPlants #QuickGrowingPlants

Growing 😁 Growing well! Just got a new leaf! Yay spring!

Not a happy baby! I have left her alone since I’ve got her but she got worse, I have cut off the leaves that were really bad and gave her a good water! Hopefully she will survive but we shall see, I did contact the company regarding this and they did give me a refund which was really nice!

Any idea what’s wrong with my baby Alocasia? The first leaf did great but this second leaf grew in kinda weird? Not sure what’s wrong with it. Also, the tip of the first leaf is starting to brown and turn crispy. #AlocasiaAddicts #Alocasia #AlocasiaDragonScale #PlantAddict #NewGrowth #PlantTherapy #GrowLights #BeforeAndAfter #PlantLove #TropicalPlants #help #helpneeded #helpme
