Hello and calling all #hoyaheads in the US. Just want to let you know about an awesome shop I found on Palmstreet…after I finally figured out how it worked . (It’s generally way too stimulating for me 🤪) Now I just have this shop The Hoya Heaux (🤣🤣🤣) bookmarked, and don’t use anything else. It’s a small family business selling both unrooted and nicely-rooted hoya cuttings and small plants. Everything I’ve got from them has been exceptionally healthy, unique, and packed well, and usually between $1-20 😱 Anyhoo, their next “live” is this Friday 6/26 at 8:30pm CST. It’s Monday at #TheWateringHole and I’m unmotivated… thinking I need a new hashtag like #UnMotivatedMonday or #MopeyMonday 😮‍💨 We’ve got #untidyTuesday so why not!?!🥴Typically I’ve got pics of pretty new things doin’ their thang, but lately not so much 🤷‍♀️ 🤪. I think the recent mealy bug/thrip discovery has left me feeling deflated. It won’t last but it’s a real thing for me, now & then. Figuring others probably feel this way too sometimes. It’s not always ☀️ 🌈 & 💐 people, right? 🤪 So rant over (I’m feeling better already 🫣) and here’s a pic of one of my plants that’s got his #UnMotivatedMonday going on too! Syngoniums were OG plants for me, 💚 them! Then slowly they all turned into long stringy, pathetic vines. I got rid of all but this bitty Panda. We both have #MopeyMonday. I need motivation. She never gets long enough to chop & prop. She did pop a new leaf up at the soil line so I’m hopeful there🤞. Anything going on in your oasis that’s got you feeling frustrated or defeated? Hi everyone, just sharing this with you all. I planted these Blue False Indigo plants from harvested seed that came from one of my other bushes three years ago. I waited three years to see these beautiful blue flowers. This is the first year they have bloomed. Just thought you would enjoy it as much as I did. Have a great day, everyone. 😍 #TheWateringHole

#thewateringhole Happy Father's Day to all the Baddie Daddies out there!! Long time no post 🫶 so I thought I'd throw one out there. I hope everyone is doing well and having a wonderful Sunday 🙏☺️ I love this time of year and although it's hot as Hades in Central Texas 🔥 Everything in the Oasis is green, lush and in full bloom. Here are a few plants that are showing out today. Not sure if they're going to be in correct order 🤷‍♀️ *Prince of Orange (the new leaves are almost neon!) * Aglaonema Chinese Evergreen - has a baby bloom 😍 looks like a tiny Peace Lily flower. * Monstera Deliciosa - I've got HOLES! 🕳️ Or Perforations if you're fancy 🎉 I just noticed the singular "hole" this morning on a different leaf. Lol * Snake Plant - I gave my son last year. I was so worried that something was going to happen to it🫯 but I had no reason!! #TheWateringHole Good afternoon and Happy Saturday! It was a hellacious week at work, but today I’ve enjoyed tending plants, bird feeders, birdbath, hummingbird feeder, and a good walk around the neighborhood. When I got back from my walk, I snapped a few pics of our outdoor blooms. The flowering pots were bought last Sunday at Walmart and Home Depot so we can’t take any credit for those. God has provided plenty of water so we haven’t had to bother with that. I had to run out to Walmart from work on Monday to pick up something for a patient. I took a swing through the garden center to see if the pothos I had eyed the previous week was still there. I had been suffering from “will power remorse”. It was still there and still the only one of that particular one they had. Meet Albert, my Albo Pothos. Now, I really have to start excercising some will power!! Wishing the whole gang a Happy Juneteenth! I was off work today so I got to do some traipsing about the five boroughs..alright only three. I’ve been on the prowl for those new Climb-Itt poles for my BMF for the longest time and I can’t find them!! However, I DID see them in the wild for the first time today - literally, as they had Silver Swords growing on them. I considered buying and de-mounting the Philo but that just seemed rude. The search continues. Has anyone tried them?? While I was in Home Depot, I also ran into this guy that I thought I had to share. I was shocked because normally around here, $50 gets you just one little stem that looks like someone propped and stuck in soil - no branching or anything. And this one had THREE branched Euphorbia Ghosts in the pot (albeit needed some TLC). I didn’t get it because I couldn’t think of where I’d put it. Now I am back home and reminded of those wise words - “If you practice self-restraint, you’ll gain regret.” 😂 @Idplantthat #thewateringhole

I stopped in Ralph’s/Kroger today to look at plants because I was in that plaza at my bank. I wasn’t really going to buy anything. I have so many new plants plus I wanted to look for flowering plants and all they had were Kalanchoe and baby roses which I already have. Then as I was leaving empty handed, I saw this plant and I had to get it. I didn’t even know what it was but I love the orange. Turns out, it’s an orange spider plant or a Mandarin. Herb’s delivery! I want a little herb wild. 🤪 🌿🌬️ She had some of my favorites in stock, so I had to get them. I wasn’t expecting them to arrive so quickly. So now I’m anxiously awaiting the other mix now. Ugh, this is why people say: plan ahead..🧐🤨. Ain’t foresight just beautiful? 🤦‍♀️😂😅 Live and learn, but please just live, you little herby dudes! Anyone else been getting their herb on? I gotta say, herbs are so much harder for me to do, but only in the winter. And all winter. 🥶 😅 It’s like cinnamon and lavender. It finally came! Well, one part; the last part of my soil mix. I got sweet pea flowers; I love the smell of sweet pea flowers. While they are super toxic to our furry friends, my dogs and cats have shown zero interest. Thank goodness! 😅 We now have sweet pea photos! Anyone growing sweet peas or anything else that smells so yummy and delicious? 😋 Ps- I’m so anxious today 😬 I’m supposed to have my soil delivery and my last thing I need for my water before I water my plants tonight. African violet 🤍 My favorite beauty, the African violet named Ophelia, is an uncommon one because she is actually white while most are purple or even pink! I love her dearly but was shocked and disappointed when I found out that she had a minor case of root rot! I found a solution, though it will be hard for her to recover. I had to cut off two flowers and all the buds and leaves that had gotten the sickness. Later on, I had to cut off another flower, leaving her with only one. I put her in a bag as a ‘humidity dome’. She is fighting and is now working on growing some flowers back! I’m so proud of her for surviving through these tough times and still having one flower! Before and after.
