Hello everyone. I hope you are well. I’ve always prided myself identifying and photographing native plants and a few invasive ones too. As I had stated earlier, I’ve given up trying to fight the invasive plants here. I live right on the edge of a state Forest, in the rural south, where anything grows and anything goes. For those of you have never seen this one, it’s also a new one to me, this has been popping up in my yard by the dozens. This is called an elephant’s foot plant or devil‘s grandma. #TheWateringHole Hope everyone has had a happy hump day! I am vacationing in Savannah while my hubby is attends a conference. I did a lot of watering on Saturday and Sunday before we left. According to Greg, I’ll be doing a lot of watering when we get back tomorrow afternoon and on Friday while I’m still off work. Hope all my plants babies are OK and hopefully, I’ll see a new leaf or two! I have snapped some flower and plant pics on my walks around town. Anybody else check out the plant life on vacation? Good morning everybody. I hope you are well. I’ve been working out in my garden this morning and checking out some locations for a new birdfeeder. While doing that I discovered this plant growing. I checked it out on several apps and it says it is a dwarf pawpaw bush. I looked it up. It is a native to Florida and it grows in one county in Georgia, which is Camden County. In Georgia, it is considered to be critically imperiled 🤔 and only grows a few counties here. Here’s some information if you’re interested. 🧑‍🌾🌼Overview of Asimina pygmaea (dwarf pawpaw) Asimina pygmaea, commonly known as the dwarf pawpaw, is a species within the pawpaw family. While it produces flowers that can attract certain insects, it is not specifically recognized as a dedicated pollinator plant. Pollination Characteristics Flowering and Insect Attraction Flower Production: Asimina pygmaea produces flowers that may attract insects for pollination. Pollination Challenges: Like many pawpaw species, it faces challenges with limited fruit set due to pollination issues. General Pollination Issues in Pawpaws Self-Incompatibility: Many pawpaw species, including Asimina pygmaea, are likely self-incompatible, which means they require cross-pollination from other plants to set fruit effectively. Here’s you’re friendly reminder #CitrusGrandPrix beginning of the month Feeding time #HappyPlants #PlantsMakePeopleHappy #NewGrowth #OrangeTree #LimeTree #LemonTree #KumquatTree Lightly top dress the top layer of soil with your organic 6-3-3. Mix it in your your fingers till looks even ish, & water in with your air rated fish fertilizer 5-1-1 “rain water mix” that you prepared. Can add a handful of vermicompost or earthworm castings to the top dress. I had a cup of earthworm castings every other month, but fertilize monthly. after running this set up on multiple different citrus trees, it would take a full-time citrus farmer to prove me that there’s a better option. I’m not even gonna try to pretend, but each one of my trees has had so much fruit on them me and my other family member cannot even eat them all. For some 2-3 ft trees in pots. there is definitely no turning back now  full fledge addicted to growing citrus in pots lol

My broken ankle and the heat down here has decimated my succulent collection. My daughter has tried to keep up with the watering that with everything else she’s had to do taking care of me It just was impossible for her to give them all the attention I usually can do. So we brought them all inside and I had to toss the dead ones and try to salvage the limp ones and the ones that had dropped a lot of their lower leaves. So far it looks like some of them are coming back and pumping out, but I just heard on PBS that melatonin enhances the root growth of plants! Since I have a bottle of melatonin, and it doesn’t do me any good I think I’m going to try to make up the solution for these poor little babies that are root damaged I’m sure. If any of you have ever done this, let me know what you think and how you did it. Finally: It's bellina time. And time for a (mini) quick orchid update. Which have been a bit more rate because a) the hoyas are always pushing them aside and b) I've been a bit mad at them because there had been an infection going around, which even managed to kill one of my treasured phal.schillerianas. still mad about that. But: just in time that her far removed progeny (the Love Potion, the darker blooms) is done with its bloom and I was afraid I would lose my delicious "day fragrance" (i.e. fragrance produced by one of my orchids) for a while, the bellina has opened. I only noticed it after work, in the evening, so no fragrance as of yet (apart from the caramel and floral scents the hoyas are enveloping me with according to our agreed upon schedule). but boy, I'm looking forward towards spending time in tomorrow's freshly perfumed living-room.😊 #orchidlovers #phalaenopsisorchid #plantsmakepeoplehappy

It has been quite a while since I’ve been on here to give any updates. After completely tossing everything due to a scale infestation and starting brand new I discovered palm street. Was this great for my bank account? Absolutely not. Was it great for my plant collection? 100% I’ve now discovered my love of tissue culture and growing from corm. I just wanted to share a little bit of what I’ve got going on. As you can see I’m up to an entire tv tray full of pups with all of my first round tcs fully acclimated. I’ve learned that alocasias will almost 99% of the time melt off the leaves they grew while in bag during acclimation and that monsteras are the most easy going tc to acclimate. Help! I received this snake plant in the mail about a 2 week ago, I put her outside for about an hour a day to get good sunlight. I I noticed these little light spots and a wrinkled leaf beside her.
