Hello everyone, I hope all is well. This is a Gulf Fritillary on a Zinnia Bush. I visited the County Master Gardeners Nursery this morning. I bought five more plants for my butterfly garden and took lots of photos. There were dozens of blooming plants and, of course, butterflies. I took photos which I’ll post this afternoon. Hello everyone, I hope you’re well. I usual it’s another scorching hot with more humiliating humidity in central Florida. I found these on one of my milkweed plants. At first, I thought there were egg clusters from possibly a monarch butterfly so I didn’t disturb them. However, I’ve been noticing they have not been making any kind of change at all. I identified them. These are Oleander aphids. Tiny little yellow/orange bugs with black legs. I just doused them with a Neem oil. I made a positive identification through three separate apps. Here’s is my favorite app I’ll share here. It will help identify almost any bugs you find in your garden. Hello everyone, I hope you had a great day. When I got back home today, the first thing I did was check my milkweed. All the aphids were gone. I did spray Neem oil on them earlier before my original post. Thank you so much for all your help. I truly appreciate it.🪴🌻🧑‍🌾, I took a spray hose and sprayed the plants thoroughly. It has been quite a while since I’ve been on here to give any updates. After completely tossing everything due to a scale infestation and starting brand new I discovered palm street. Was this great for my bank account? Absolutely not. Was it great for my plant collection? 100% I’ve now discovered my love of tissue culture and growing from corm. I just wanted to share a little bit of what I’ve got going on. As you can see I’m up to an entire tv tray full of pups with all of my first round tcs fully acclimated. I’ve learned that alocasias will almost 99% of the time melt off the leaves they grew while in bag during acclimation and that monsteras are the most easy going tc to acclimate. Good morning everyone. Its a very rainy morning here in west central Florida. I hope all is well with you. Here’s a picture of a flower that I took a few weeks ago while hiking out in the green swamp area. My Plant ID app calls it a “Pale Meadow Beauty”. I’m not sure if that is correct. However, I thought it looked interesting so I took its picture. It could be something invasive. My lithops are FINALLY splitting!! I’ve had these guys for about two years with nothing really happening but yesterday I checked in on them for the first time in awhile and I saw that they were splitting! Snoop Update! We have officially moved on to the second tier 👏 the node spacing seems to be really good, and everything is symmetrical. It’s been so cool to watch the classic leaf take shape and to known there are no pesticides or anything being sprayed 🙌🏻🙌🏻 Growing straight in Earths oven …the sun. Once again in (hoya) love. Just leaving them here, might not have a chance to answer any comments during the next days though, because... life. Not in order, as always, partly in comment: 1.: Featuring the desperately anticipated hanhiae... way smaller, but just as gorgeous and messy as expected. Almost fully ball-shaped peduncles. And the perfect color I was hoping for (for now I wanted neither pure yellow nor the purely pink one. And this on is... chef's kiss. Truly. Overpowering sweet fragrance too. Love the scent and still had to ban her because it was too much. 2.: one of my more pricier ones, the piestolepis. totally worth it, no scent detected as of yet, but my collection's biggest hoya flowers as of yet. I included various stages, because I found all of them to be very pretty. Not sure I like the speed with which it folds back its petals (i really really love those big velvety stars), but those velvet comets are also very special. Last for now, is another picture of the Viola, which just happened to open today as well (catching her small window in which she is actually blooming). I hope all of you are well and are enjoying your weekend. I myself now will disappear again into the void of chaos until summoned. Poof!
