Hello everyone, I hope you’re having a great day and that you are well. I recently learned that if you save banana skins and put them in a picture of water the water makes great fertilizer. I let the banana skin sit in the water for 24 hours and sprinkle the soil around my seedlings and on my plants. The banana skins put magnesium and potassium in the water. Here is my regrown Persian shield plant. In February, it was eaten down to a nub by a rat. This is one of my favorite plants and needlessly to say I was pretty upset when I saw it. There was actually nothing left except a half an inch and a couple small leaves. I’ve been working for months on this plant in order to get it to come back. It’s doing very well. This is the same plant that was in the blue pot in my oasis. That was prior to the rat, eating it. I’m so excited for my “comebacks!” The first two are Variegated Fallopia Multiflora. I love the Fallopia, it literally sparkles ✨ The other two are my sweet comeback alocasias. One of my favorite alocasias is Variegated Alocasia baginda 'Dragon Scale' (Mint/Aurea variant). Lastly is a Stardust Alocasia. ☺️ Does anyone else have some comebacks, or cuttings you are doing? Share your comebacks and let us know how you did it. I think we can learn and improve no matter the skill level. Here’s my new planter box I just put together this morning. I put water sealer on my planter boxes so they last longer because they’re outside they are outside in the Florida heat and humidity. The next stage will be one more coat of sealer and then the interior liner. I will have it all done by this evening.
