I’m SOOOO EXCITED and HAPPY! 👀 Looks like my 1 year old Hoya Mathilde is likely going to 🌸 BLOOM 🌸 like crazy for the 1st time (and hopefully keep all her NEW 20+ penduncles for next time 😮) She stopped growing leaves and is only growing flowers, even on all her long empty leaf stems. 😍. She’s a 1st time bloomer! OMG so exciting to watch it go through all these stages 🎉💚👏🏻 1st time I’ve ever been through a Hoya blooming process. None of my other Hoyas have bloomed before. I ventured out this morning to inspect the plants before the sun becomes too intense and bright. I’m back inside now, but not before capturing a few photos. The greenhouse is incredibly humid this morning! The acclimating outdoor plants are looking remarkably better. Often the weirder looking a succulent is the more I like it. These are called Stone faces, lithops. Sometimes they’re called living pet rocks. They were sitting on the succulent table at Lowes for weeks and no one was buying them. I just had to share my kitchen plants; I’m so excited about these babies! That and my Prestonia quinquangularis is finally making her beautiful comeback! When she arrived, she had terrible travel shock, and I lost her to the point of a single stem. She’s finally looking better. I’m so excited. My majestic philodendron started opening into new, gorgeous, bigger leaves. I love my pink plants. So don’t be surprised if you see more pinks 🫶🏻🌸🩵🐾🪴 My citruses arrived today! So excited. It’s a Dwarf Buddha Hand Citrus Tree; Rio Red Grapefruit; Sunquat Tree; Marumi Kumquat; Fukushu Kumquat Tree; Eustis Limequat Tree, and then my caladium bulbs. I’m so happy! My undulata is actually looking pretty good; this is one of my first ever Hoyas. I’ve heard these ones can be a little more tricky? Alright, I completely caved and finally got two little cuties that I’m really hoping to just as healthy as the photos! @Jho was kind enough to show me this seller a while back, and I decided alright let’s do it! First is a variegated billietiae, and second is a caramel marble fire tiger 🐅 Then I’m so excited to find a variegated piper nigrum! (Aka a black peppercorn plant!) I have a regular peppercorn vine that is climbing with my vanilla, so I’m excited to add this to my other variegated vanilla and now variegated peppercorn! Yay! Worked all day yesterday on my plants. I was not planning on doing a garden vegetable; I usually just help my mom do hers. But this year we have my brother and my sister plus their families back living in the area. So we needed to step up the veggies this year. I’ve NEVER grown broccoli, artichokes, or carrots from seeds, but what the Hades! I got the seeds; let’s see what we can do. Finding somewhere I can plant my tomatoes without affecting my berries. 🤔 So I settled on a kinda forgotten part of my backyard. It’s right between an old cinder block 🧱 shed and the greenhouse. I figured my vents open to the veggies this way so it makes them get a little more humidity as well as it stays warm back there year-round and blocks them from heavy winds. Alocasia love! I’m so excited my Alocasia chantrieri pink variegated picture one is coming in beautifully! Then you can see the baby Yucatán, the metallic blue, and a few others! The next one over is a Thomas Alocasia, tattoo, and a red mamba variegated, Azlanii pink, and Azlanii gold, and a couple of others. My largest alocasia is about 2 ft tall with legs and about 10-inch leaves. So excited to see my greenhouse in a happier place! I’m sure, like so many of us, we are trying to counter all this crazy weather. It’s been so unpredictable; we’ve gone from a couple of days into the 80’s to freezing again! Which isn’t uncommon for Utah weather… but omg my poor plants. 🌱 😂 So we got smart and put a heat-reflecting greenhouse tarp over the roof. I can’t believe how much it lowers the heat! So happy to have done it.
