I ventured out this morning to inspect the plants before the sun becomes too intense and bright. I’m back inside now, but not before capturing a few photos. The greenhouse is incredibly humid this morning! The acclimating outdoor plants are looking remarkably better. I’m so happy! My undulata is actually looking pretty good; this is one of my first ever Hoyas. I’ve heard these ones can be a little more tricky? Does anyone else have more experience with a particular Hoya? Any suggestions as far as making it better?? Otherwise, what’s your favorite Hoya you’ve grown? Like, wishlist?? I just had to share my kitchen plants; I’m so excited about these babies! That and my Prestonia quinquangularis is finally making her beautiful comeback! When she arrived, she had terrible travel shock, and I lost her to the point of a single stem. She’s finally looking better. I’m so excited. My majestic philodendron started opening into new, gorgeous, bigger leaves. I love my pink plants. So don’t be surprised if you see more pinks 🫶🏻🌸🩵🐾🪴 My citruses arrived today! So excited. It’s a Dwarf Buddha Hand Citrus Tree; Rio Red Grapefruit; Sunquat Tree; Marumi Kumquat; Fukushu Kumquat Tree; Eustis Limequat Tree, and then my caladium bulbs. So excited to see my greenhouse in a happier place! I’m sure, like so many of us, we are trying to counter all this crazy weather. It’s been so unpredictable; we’ve gone from a couple of days into the 80’s to freezing again! Which isn’t uncommon for Utah weather… but omg my poor plants. 🌱 😂 So we got smart and put a heat-reflecting greenhouse tarp over the roof. I can’t believe how much it lowers the heat! So happy to have done it. I am so excited here. I think my Indian shot is coming back, which is so great! We have a patch of middle dirt between us and the neighbors. I’ve been trying to find things to grow there, and I finally planted two jujube and an almond tree this year, but the Indian shot I planted last year is coming back! That’s pushing the zone here with 4 trees that shouldn’t grow here. Second year: two olive trees 🫒; second year: myer lemon tree (although it’s taken a bad hit; my plant killer saga got to it.. 🤦‍♀️) then today I got to plant my cold hardy orange 🍊 mandarin tree! - that’s a first year, but it’s two gallons so it’s pretty ready for this! Can’t wait. It’s going to take a lot more to get it to survive, but the start is great! 😊 Teddy was helping me figure out how big our hole was. 🤣 I love Ted, and Awsha and her daughter Siggy were out sleeping while I worked around them. I’m SOOOO EXCITED and HAPPY! 👀 Looks like my 1 year old Hoya Mathilde is likely going to 🌸 BLOOM 🌸 like crazy for the 1st time (and hopefully keep all her NEW 20+ penduncles for next time 😮) She stopped growing leaves and is only growing flowers, even on all her long empty leaf stems. 😍. She’s a 1st time bloomer! OMG so exciting to watch it go through all these stages 🎉💚👏🏻 1st time I’ve ever been through a Hoya blooming process. None of my other Hoyas have bloomed before. I’ve been out all day working in the yard planting and weeding, watering, plus you all the rest. Anyway, thought I’d share some banana pics and others. My new babies arrived today! The four I’ve been waiting for months to arrive; finally arrived! Yay! Then my Hoya surprise plants came today! The seller is amazing and I’m blown away by the amazing packaging and quality she put into this! I’m in love! 🥰 So excited, this is the kind of pee your pants excited! Yay! I’m so excited to get my Boswellia sacra outside and into the sun. She’s loving it. If you don’t recognize the plant name by the genius, it’s commonly known as Frankincense, the sacred frankincense. Frankincense is an amazing plant for its resin, otherwise known as “tears,” is considered the finest in the world; but for anyone who prefers to use homeopathic remedies, it’s highly recommended. I’ve had a busier day today; it’s been cooler, so I’ve been taking advantage and starting seeds for my family’s different gardens. Hopefully, they all make a decent start 🤞. I’ve had a couple of nights of frost, and all my plants I can’t cover have just bombed in leaves. Alright! I finally finished building my monstrosity of a grow light stand and got it set up in the house 🌋! That's Phase One 😅. Next I have to build the setup/decor and whatnot for the plants....
