Hey #TheWateringHole friends! I went to my first Plant Swap today! 🪴 My goal was to come home with less than I took and I was successful 🙌🥳🎉 The first pic is the bin I took to give away, and the second pic is what I came home with. Look at these cuties! 📸 The succulent I got for free and the three little Hoyas I bought. The two tiny ones are Serpens Silver (or maybe splash?) 🌱 The other reminds me of a Wayetii, but is actually a. Espaldoniana. I can’t find much about them, but the seller said she got it as a free cutting when she bought plants from Ric Moreir (that’s a new name to me, but I got the impression that he’s a big Hoya name). Has anyone ever heard of the plant OR the person? 🤔 Either way, I love it!!! 💚 It’s BLISSFULLY cool here today (62F) and my hubby is cooking his famous Zuppa Toscana for dinner tonight. So it’s an awesome day 🤗 What are you all up to??? #debbiedo

Happy Wednesday at #TheWateringHole my lovely plant people 🤍🌿 The last few days have been quite hot, so I am actually so thankful to see that starting tomorrow it looks like we’re due for almost a week of rain 😮‍💨 🙌 I have not done any laundry, or much else around the house because of the heat. 🥵 I have spent some time checking on my cucumeris mites though 🤓 I just love them. It’s supposed to be less than 90°F/32°C today, so today I play catch-up. Luckily for me, my adhd brain takes that as a challenge. 3 days of work in a few hours? Challenge accepted!! For pictures, we’ve got a new tortum leaf, a ridiculously long latifolia vine that I very much need to make a trellis for, some broadmite ICU patients (my poor beauty star 😭 but she’s hanging on! ) and an excellent microscope that attaches to your phone making taking and sharing pictures a piece of cake, and a picture from said microscope. Green circle is my beneficial predatory mite; the N. cucumeris, and red circle is a feeder mite. ⏱️Want to be notified of these posts when they come out? Good Evening to ALL who may come across this post 😊 I have something I NEED to share with you guys 🤯 So on Tuesday, I went out on the front porch to water some plants 🪴 (I don’t go out there often because of the wasp and the heat this time of year) As I’m watering my smaller Bird of Paradise, I notice it’s REALLY leaning towards the stairs which makes it in the way when walking up or down. Therefore I thought why don’t I switch it with my banana tree so it’ll lean more towards the center. I lean over to pick it up and I’m trying to figure out WHY it won’t come out of the concrete pot?! 🤔 Usually the plants come right out, but not this time. So I’m pulling, I’m tugging, I’m wiggling, I’m leaning it every which way and NOTHING! Well FINALLY it lets loose!!! Believe it or NOT, the BOP roots had grown out of the drainage holes in the clay pot and into the cement pot 😳🤯😳 I cannot believe how big, thick, and healthy those roots are! It just blows my mind. I never would have thought that would happen. I mean I could have planted the BOP directly into the cement planter, but that thing is extremely HEAVY. So to make it easier, I just put the clay pot inside the cement pot! Now I have to do a repot 🤯🤯 And last year, I had a bunch of broken stems from my Easter and Thanksgiving Cactus. So I planted all of them in a little throw away container with some peat moss. Now the Thanksgiving Cactus wants to bloom?!? WHAT?? I’m sooo confused, yet sooo excited 😜 Last, but not least is my Lifesaver Cactus. I thought my Polly was a goner. I posted her a while back when she was at her worst. I took The Main Rhizome and put it in perlite and fluval stratum and lo and behold look at this pretty leaf. I’m so happy right now. I didn’t notice the death wrap around her when I initially planted her. Now she’s free as can be and beautiful too I might add. Can you tell I’m a proud plant mama ha ha ha ha ha. Have a good day all. ❤️ #TheWateringHole

Hello everyone, I had a wonderful day yesterday and my birthday. We went down to Tarpon Springs for dinner and then went out to Anclote key, which is one of my favorite places. Anclote Key is located 4 miles offshore in the Gulf from Tarpon Springs, Florida and is only accessible by boat. It finally came! Well, one part; the last part of my soil mix. I stopped in Ralph’s/Kroger today to look at plants because I was in that plaza at my bank. I wasn’t really going to buy anything. I have so many new plants plus I wanted to look for flowering plants and all they had were Kalanchoe and baby roses which I already have. Then as I was leaving empty handed, I saw this plant and I had to get it. I didn’t even know what it was but I love the orange. Turns out, it’s an orange spider plant or a Mandarin.
