Here is my regrown Persian shield plant. In February, it was eaten down to a nub by a rat. This is one of my favorite plants and needlessly to say I was pretty upset when I saw it. There was actually nothing left except a half an inch and a couple small leaves. I’ve been working for months on this plant in order to get it to come back. It’s doing very well. This is the same plant that was in the blue pot in my oasis. That was prior to the rat, eating it. Good morning . I hope you are well. 😁Here is my Echeveria Nodulosa , at least that is what the Greg plant ID says. There was no identification on the plant. It is a succulent. Hello everyone, I hope you are well. Here is my rubber plant. Is about six years old and grew to a height of 6 feet. Unfortunately, this winter it was annihilated by an extended frost we had in Central Florida. It was too heavy for me to move, to safety, so every evening I covered it up with multiple long blankets. Despite my best efforts, it was hit hard. While trimming it back, about a month and a half ago, I discovered there was new growth under all the dead stems. It’s growing back with a vengeance. I’m so excited for my “comebacks!” The first two are Variegated Fallopia Multiflora. I love the Fallopia, it literally sparkles ✨ The other two are my sweet comeback alocasias. One of my favorite alocasias is Variegated Alocasia baginda 'Dragon Scale' (Mint/Aurea variant). Lastly is a Stardust Alocasia. ☺️ Does anyone else have some comebacks, or cuttings you are doing? Share your comebacks and let us know how you did it. I think we can learn and improve no matter the skill level. I ventured out this morning to inspect the plants before the sun becomes too intense and bright. I’m back inside now, but not before capturing a few photos. The greenhouse is incredibly humid this morning! The acclimating outdoor plants are looking remarkably better. Often the weirder looking a succulent is the more I like it. These are called Stone faces, lithops. Sometimes they’re called living pet rocks. They were sitting on the succulent table at Lowes for weeks and no one was buying them. I’m not even sure what to say to this… my silly Alocasia. I thought she was way too young to have so many babies yet… my mistake for not checking sooner. New trick: Turning a plastic pot to a faux terracotta one. To increase the airflow and reduce the humidity around your plant’s roots, use a welding stick (~$12) and punch holes in the botttom 1/3 of the pot. Make it decorative if you like, and no need to remove the plants or soil to do it. Don’t make your holes higher than the 1/3 mark as that may make the pot too dry in the root zone. You can also use a soldering iron to make holes in the bottom (~5) if your pot has no drainage. BTW This is my newest plant in its newest pot. I’m so happy! My undulata is actually looking pretty good; this is one of my first ever Hoyas. I’ve heard these ones can be a little more tricky? Worked all day yesterday on my plants. I was not planning on doing a garden vegetable; I usually just help my mom do hers. But this year we have my brother and my sister plus their families back living in the area. So we needed to step up the veggies this year. I’ve NEVER grown broccoli, artichokes, or carrots from seeds, but what the Hades! I got the seeds; let’s see what we can do. Finding somewhere I can plant my tomatoes without affecting my berries. 🤔 So I settled on a kinda forgotten part of my backyard. It’s right between an old cinder block 🧱 shed and the greenhouse. I figured my vents open to the veggies this way so it makes them get a little more humidity as well as it stays warm back there year-round and blocks them from heavy winds. Alright, I completely caved and finally got two little cuties that I’m really hoping to just as healthy as the photos! @Jho was kind enough to show me this seller a while back, and I decided alright let’s do it! First is a variegated billietiae, and second is a caramel marble fire tiger 🐅 Then I’m so excited to find a variegated piper nigrum! (Aka a black peppercorn plant!) I have a regular peppercorn vine that is climbing with my vanilla, so I’m excited to add this to my other variegated vanilla and now variegated peppercorn! Yay! Often the weirder looking a succulent is the more I like it. These are called Stone faces, lithops. Sometimes they’re called living pet rocks. They were sitting on the succulent table at Lowes for weeks and no one was buying them. New trick: Turning a plastic pot to a faux terracotta one. To increase the airflow and reduce the humidity around your plant’s roots, use a welding stick (~$12) and punch holes in the botttom 1/3 of the pot. Make it decorative if you like, and no need to remove the plants or soil to do it. Don’t make your holes higher than the 1/3 mark as that may make the pot too dry in the root zone. You can also use a soldering iron to make holes in the bottom (~5) if your pot has no drainage. BTW This is my newest plant in its newest pot. Worked all day yesterday on my plants. I was not planning on doing a garden vegetable; I usually just help my mom do hers. But this year we have my brother and my sister plus their families back living in the area. So we needed to step up the veggies this year. I’ve NEVER grown broccoli, artichokes, or carrots from seeds, but what the Hades! I got the seeds; let’s see what we can do. Finding somewhere I can plant my tomatoes without affecting my berries. 🤔 So I settled on a kinda forgotten part of my backyard. It’s right between an old cinder block 🧱 shed and the greenhouse. I figured my vents open to the veggies this way so it makes them get a little more humidity as well as it stays warm back there year-round and blocks them from heavy winds. Alright, I completely caved and finally got two little cuties that I’m really hoping to just as healthy as the photos! @Jho was kind enough to show me this seller a while back, and I decided alright let’s do it! First is a variegated billietiae, and second is a caramel marble fire tiger 🐅 Then I’m so excited to find a variegated piper nigrum! (Aka a black peppercorn plant!) I have a regular peppercorn vine that is climbing with my vanilla, so I’m excited to add this to my other variegated vanilla and now variegated peppercorn! Yay!
