Found this guy at Loweā€™s for the cheap but I lost the tag that said what he was and Greg keeps giving me different answers. Iā€™ve given it the succulent/cactus soil but are they any tips for taking care of it?

Orchid experiment..... She's in a self watering pot but it's not set up like a self watering pot. No wick. I'm using the bottom part to catch the water. I'm using distilled water. I put a layer of the chunky bark and then a thin layer of leftover live spaghum moss i had leftover. Then a layer of the chunky bark to hold her in place so she doesn't fall over. I left some of her roots exposed so I could keep an eye šŸ‘ on them. After doing some Google search I see now they use moss and bark. I thought they only used bark. I want to see if the live is better than that other dried up stuff you buy from Lowe's. Greg watering and fertilizing recommendations are confusing. I received a reminder to fertilize and water the same plant on different days. Shouldnā€™t watering and fertilizing be done on the same day? Please help.

Wanted to share some progress pics of my Sedum Adolphi 'Firestorm', which I purchased in Jan '24. A lot of people don't realize just how slow growing many succulents are. Watching them for signs of new growth is akin to watching paint dry šŸ˜‚ As you can see from the pics, it's produced a few offsets, but the main rosette is still about the same size after 2.5 years. For the last 2 years, it's been 8-10" under decent-strength, full-spectrum grow lights. I water it once a month on average. Same pot/soil, no fertilizer. When people talk about plants that "thrive on neglect", this is the kind of plant they're talking about šŸ˜œ If you're new to plants (or just tend to be impatient lol) and want something that will reward you with visible, tangible growth in a short period of time, succulents might not be the best choice. But for those willing to invest the time, you'll be rewarded with something equally as gratifying šŸ„°

Happy Monday! I purchased my White Queen Caladium as a tuber (photo attached). Therefore, Iā€™ve had the pleasure of watching the growth completely from start to finish. I noticed a couple weeks ago that there was some growth that didnā€™t look familiar to me. Keep in mind this is my first caladium ever. I let the plant do its thing and I just watched. But every day I would look at the ā€œweirdā€ growth and thinkā€¦.. why the heck wonā€™t this leaf unfurl. Until this morning. It dawned on me. Is it possible my Caladium is blooming? AND CLICK. I THINK THATS EXACTLY WHAT IS HAPPENING. my caladium needs help im usually great with all my other plants but i just cant seem to get them right, all of them end up with really droopy leaves and then they eventually die off. i always save their rhizomes to grow but when they do grow i just cant seem to get it right. any ideas please!!? the rest of my collection is thriving even my tissue culture alocasia, caladium just seems to be my downfall but i really want to grow them as they are gorgeousšŸ„² #Caladium #help
