spider mites.
Well, it's not confirmed. A leaf is yellowing, but I see webbing inside of the pot. It was there before, but I thought it was only a spider from when I had it on the balcony. I think I'm wrong. But anyway, I have guessed the culprit is spider mites.
These mindless insects are absolute garbage. I count that there are currently three plants down to these idiots. I wish I could send all of the ladybugs in the world down for these guys.
But, I have an idea.
Two out of the three plants infected are tolerant to the conditions outside. Outside, it is moist and cold. spider mites like dry, warm conditions.
Perfect.
What do you guys think about this?

@Catplantaddict I say at this point go for it! I had spider mites on my Kalanchoe. I moved the plant and I used a cotton swab & cotton ball soaked in rubbing alcohol and wiped the whole plant down. I'm sure you've done everything and this suggestion won't help but thought I'd throw it in the ring just in case. I'm sorry that you're dealing with this. But yeah I'd throw the suckers outside. If they are going to go anyway you might as well right? 😢
@princesspitstop I hadn’t tried that and I have a plant with a recurrent bout of mites. It was going to get a full repot today, a cleaning from top to root so, I’ll throw that at mine too. @Catplantaddict Good luck with yours. I would ladybug them too. 🐞 😤
@PrizedShadscale Good luck 🤞 let me know if it works for you. I'd like to know if it was just a fluke or if that's what really got rid of them.
@princesspitstop will do. I’ve been working on it for months. It’s been eradicated from the other three plants but this keeps coming back on this one plant. And the poor plant is suffering my wrath to remove them. 😬
@princesspitstop God must have created them for some reason though I can't imagine for what! Fingers and toes crossed for you. 😊
@princesspitstop never heard of that method. I might do it.
@Catplantaddict Cool I hope it works! Make sure to get in the creases where the leaves meet the stem. Which is where I had that cob webby white stuff. On the leaves as well as on the underside of them. Just wipe it down and move it from the location that you had it. I did it once and they never came back. Got my fingers crossed for you!!
If you think the plants can take it, why not. Even more of an effect than the change in conditions might be the vast amount of enemies outside. Worked for me and my pepper plant I during summer with false spider mites. Or you could consider beneficials. I think some predatory mites also feed on the normal spider mites.
Alcohol works on most pests, however, not against most eggs. So repeat treatments would be the way to go, I think.
Sending a lot of strength from my apartment that has had a serious broadmite infestation for months and now is mite free apart from cucumeris amblyseius mites which rule my plants now. In every pot. I freakin love those dudes. Those probably won't really love your conditions, though. Sorry. I hope you find a solution that works for you. Don't give up
