Been working in the greenhouse most of my morning. Thought I’d share some photos. First ones are some of my monsteras. Please add your own photos of your monsteras, begonias, philodendrons, Hoyas, ferns, and anthuriums! I’d love to see them, and I’m sure so many others would too! #HappyPlants #PlantsMakePeopleHappy #PlantAddict #NewGrowth #PropagationStation #Monstera #MonsteraMob #TheThread #TheWateringHole #PlantTherapy #GrowLights #NewPlantMom #OrchidLovers #PetsAndPlants #PlantCorner #BeforeAndAfter #PestControl #PlantShelfie #RarePlants #PLANTMAFIA #RarePlants #PlantID
Anthuriums; Love these dinosaurs! πŸ¦•πŸ¦–
Tissue cultures: Aussie fern, Cuban oregano, zebra fern, and Chinese joy evergreen! πŸ˜‰πŸͺ΄
Begonias
Philodendrons, and the last two is the second red comeback Hoya and the last is a Rio Red Grapefruit. Love my citrus and love the fruit plants. πŸ˜‰
Last one! Has anyone else grown Dwarf Paca coffee plants before? 🧐 Then I’m so happy I got my mini banana back on track.
@Idplantthat ooh your verrucosum looks amazing!!

And this begonia!! I forget the name but I have it too and this is the one I was telling you about that I repotted and gave canna rhizotonic too and it DIDNT fuss 😱
Omg I’m obsessed with this anthurium 😱🀯🀩
Here’s my crΓ¨me brΓ»lΓ©e’s newest leaf opening up 🀩πŸ₯Ή
My husband spoiled me with this anthurium vittarifolium variegated for Mother’s Day and I’m absolutely in love (with him and the plant lol!). She’s just a widdle bebe right now but should grow up to be a stunner if I play my cards right! It’s my first anthurium and the plant shop lady said it’s her least fussy one.
@Idplantthat very nicely done. Everything is so green and vibrant. I’ve not been too successful growing ferns inside but my asparagus fern is doing fantastic and is one of my favorites. My monstera is a monster! My flower less Hoya is growing but won’t flower! My adorable Birkin and lastly purple Flamingo flower or Anthurium
@DreamMachine, that black begonia is a Black Mamba! I love that one too! You have to! You gotta post it! That anthurium was my first anthurium ever; it’s one of my all-time favorites. I’m generally not a big fan of just green; it’s gotta be different for me to really love, but this baby… I’m just always happy to see it. Your crΓ¨me brΓ»lΓ©e almost reminds me of a Jose philodendron, it’s gorgeous and I love her curl still unraveling πŸ₯°
@MamaLinne Deb, it’s gorgeous! When it goes up, it’s definitely going to be a monster stunner! I love anthuriums; they are big plants, but they’ve got big personalities πŸ˜†
@Shells_Garden Michelle, first of all, that monstera WOW! 🀩 That’s impressive and stunning 😍 I’ve had not so much luck with ferns either. This is my third Aussie fern and the only one I’ve kept alive yet. My little golden zebra I’m actually shocked she’s around.. πŸ˜† Okay, so tell me, because I honestly don’t know, and maybe you know! Your asparagus fern, is it a Meyer’s asparagus or a regular? I guess they have different growth habits? Yours is adorable, it’s so cute how little all its leaves are. @DreamMachine Nadia was saying some Hoyas can take up to ten years to bloom! I’m newer to the Hoya collection so I’ve got nothing to go off. πŸ˜† But yours looks so happy and lush! I wonder if it’s just the type of Hoya?? Your philodendron and anthurium are gorgeous. - I love that flower color. Painters palettes always have the best colors.
@Idplantthat @Shells_Garden whoops did I say 10 years? I meant they can take a couple years to bloom, but sometimes longer IF you don’t have that specific hoya’s conditions right. Like some hoyas need a lot of light to bloom, some want less, some want to stay on the dry side, some drop their buds if they dry out too much! Some get their cue to bloom because of longer daylight hours, some bloom when the hours of daylight decreases, some get too cold to bloom, some like it on the cool side to bloom…so many variables to test!

That’s part of why I love Vermont Hoyas so much β€”he has grown SO many hoyas and lists them all and you can see what conditions your hoya needs to bloom if he’s grown it before ☺️
@Shells_Garden and is that a krinkle carnosa? they are not early bloomers. Vermont Hoyas says they are usually ready to start blooming at around 3 years of age, but they can be hard to bloom the first time.
@DreamMachine I could be totally misremembering the ten years! If I did, I apologize. But holy moly, that’s still a time. (I guess not in a plant world if they are long-lived πŸ˜†) That’s a great resource, I gotta look him up!
@DreamMachine this is wild! Is that an actual flower of one of the Hoyas? And it’s supposed to look like this??
@Idplantthat yeah! Isn’t that a crazy one??
@DreamMachine it’s so alien, I mean that’s what I feel like you’d see on another planet or reality. I love it! πŸ˜‚
@Idplantthat I know right! There’s another one where the little parts of the corona (I hope that’s the right word, the center part of the flower) look like snake tongues!! 🀯 I forget which one though πŸ˜†
@DreamMachine yes it is a Krinkle. I’ve had it about 18 months and it’s still in the same pot I put it in. I’ve read that Hoya like to be rootbound to flower so I’ve never repotted it yet. Do you think it’s time for a bigger pot? I also have this Krimson Queen that I’ve had for about a year and never repotted.
@Shells_Garden okay, so you are probably looking at another 18 months before the krinkle could possibly bloom. It’s a long haul plant ☺️ I would probably not repot it until it blooms, and only if it needs it!
@Shells_Garden and the krimson queen is also a carnosa, so you’re probably looking at the same time frame for blooms for that one too. If you are looking for an early bloomer, the hoya Bella is a great one! I’ve seen Bella’s bloom on barely-over-a-cutting size.
@Idplantthat it’s an Asparagus Lace Fern. I also have an Asparagus Ming Fern as shown here. She’s tiny but she’s got new growth! The Ming fronds look more like porcupine needles and the fronds on tue lace fern are soft more like lace.
@DreamMachine thank you Nadia. I didn’t think o should repot it yet so I’m glad I waited. Appreciate the guidance
@DreamMachine excellent! Thank you! I’ll look for one of those Hoyas on Etsy.
@Shells_Garden oh I love that fern too, it’s completely different than the Meyer’s asparagus fern. I recently got a couple of months ago, but they grow closer together and have a thicker, bushy style. ?? It’s honestly my first one so I’m still learning a lot about it. Not sure if you are interested, but I just started using this seller for my Hoyas and she gives genuine advice and great cuttings. Her care and plants are amazing. Highly recommend her, especially if you have a new Hoya you want! https://thehoyatrove.com/?srsltid=AfmBOoqNY0DhXoq782OJt0UoYYj11hPgtRZAzvA-VhVVuySf_3Fn-1qe
@Idplantthat thank you!! Yeah that Ming fern came as a starter in one of the 10 packs I bought last year. It’s one of the only ferns that survived out of them. I have several larger (huge) Boston ferns on my patio that do great but getting small starter plants to grow up and thrive hasn’t been in the cards for me.
@Shells_Garden, those guys are monsters! They look very happy. I feel like starters and seeds, if not a typical vegetable or something, can be really tricky to get to actually make it into a mature plant. πŸͺ΄ πŸ˜‰
