Monstera growing SO fast. The plant on the right is my mother plant. I propagated 3 cuttings about 2-3 months ago, and put them in soil on July 10th. Yesterday I had to repot them because the roots were growing out the top and bottom. A month?!?!? Had anyone else had props grow this fast? Is it because mine are outdoors? #HappyPlants #PlantsMakePeopleHappy #PlantAddict #NewGrowth #PropagationStation #MonsteraMonday #Monstera #MonsteraMob #GregGang #Greggers #TheWateringHole
@SillyPlantGirl
I see a puppy dog. 😊
@WormWarriorFarm that’s my Lucie πŸ₯°πŸ₯°πŸ₯°
OMG that face is killing me πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚
@SillyPlantGirl I love Lucie and great job with the props and mother plant. They are beautiful. Mine are smaller than yours but I’ve also propped. One is outside and it’s catching up to the mom inside. And just for fun, I shared my pups too! πŸ™Œ #PetsAndPlants #PetsOfGreg
@SpyderLily itkills me too when she’s a bad girl LOL! I cannot say no or be angry at her for anything. Especially when she does this…..
@Shells_Garden gorgeous monsteras!!! So full! And that puppy- what a cutie! That’s another face I couldn’t say no to 🀭😊
Question about them,…
When you cut to propagate, will the branch produce more leaves? The main stem has no leaves before the large one that is above the smaller set. If I chop the main stem and prop the pieces, what happens to it? It’s probably not a big deal but I want it to be full like yours.
@HolyLacealoe hey Anna, yes you absolutely can. It’s called β€œWet Stick Propagation”. As long as there is 1 healthy node- you can grow a new plant. But, not only does it take longer- just sticking it in water can cause it to rot, so it’s recommended to use a DIY high humidity prop box. (I can send you info on that if you’re interested). I can tell you one of my pieces has a teeny tiny leaf- and I was worried because I was told to have at least 2 leaves- but that one piece grew roots first and even put out a new leaf about 2 weeks in- and they just kept coming after that. This was my very first prop of any plant.
@SillyPlantGirl I’ve only trained a couple vines up the pole, but I do think I’m gonna split the vines up soon for better growing potential/ size. There are ALOT in the pot, I would estimate 5-7 plants😲
I’m almost positive Lucie said she’s already packed her bags for my houseπŸ πŸ‘‹ ….maybe I heard wrong πŸ˜… she’s so stinkin cute!

All that growth in 1 month 😲 she’s beautiful Catherine! Great sized leaves too.

The adansonii is actually my favorite plant πŸ™ŒπŸ» I got mine on May 31st (the photos without the moss pole are the day I got it , well duh BrandonπŸ˜…). She’s absolutely exploded. Roots flying out the moss pole. She did start getting a little leggy recently with teeny leaves-but I think it’s because she’s growing up the pole so less light. She definitely not reverting back to juvenile though because her fenestrations are insane. I have moved her to a better spot so hopefully she will feel better @SillyPlantGirl
@Bmd you had me laugh out loud!! Trust me- Lucie loves everyone, and she would probably go with you. But fair warning- my baby is an Autistic bulldog. I still have trouble wrapping my head around that sometimes. We’ve raised 4 children- I and that is πŸ˜‚- but this little girl- puts us to the test every day. She has up wrapped- but we live her to death. Now- your Monsteraia GORGEOUS! Mine looked like yours when I first got it (from the Greg shop!) and it grew so nicely- then winter came and I got sick and it got a little neglected. But once spring hi and I put it outdoors- it’s just taken off. I had mine on the same moss pole you’re using- until it grew so tall I had to get that thing I’ve got mine on now. You obviously have a great set up because all of your plants are just stunning. I’m actually jealous because my house- the builders didn’t think windows were necessary. Or they forgot? Big dummies.
@SillyPlantGirl oh my god… unfortunately these details aren’t helping your caseπŸ˜… I’m now FOR SURE gonna leave a treat trail from my front door all the way to Texas- what’s her favorite treats??? Asking for a friend of course πŸ‘€πŸ‘€πŸ‘€

I have heard such great things about Greg shop! I don’t have access to it yet though. And YOUR plants are gorgeous… and now you’re telling me no windows- even more impressed! You would think some access to natural light would be a no brainer 🧐 I think they knew you would accept the Challenge πŸ‘πŸ™ŒπŸ»

I so so appreciate your kind words as always :) My houseplants are actually in a bedroom that was an addition to the house- for whatever reason the room is completely cut off from the rest of the house in terms of environment. My house stays no more than 68Β° year round- but this room gets HOT. Like 75-85Β°. I installed an overhead fan for the perfect airflow. And the room has 3 massive west facing windows with shutters. So very bright light direct morning sun- filtered bright direct harsh sun for afternoon. I was nervous but the plants seem to be loving it πŸ‘ I will eventually move everything to the greenhouse after it’s built.
lol! Lucie eats anything, including rocks, cement, tree branches….but her fave is steak. We try not to give her many treats- she weighs almost 70 pounds and she is a shorty so the extra weight hurts her hips. I now you don’t know me well, but I am part Vampire lol….at least I feel like one now after living in this house for 30 years. 🫣 No great light inside is why all of my plants are outdoors from March until October. My house is usually cooler than most to keep my body temp down.
@SillyPlantGirl Catherine, yes please, give me the info on the DIY. 😊 TYIA
