About monstera siltepecanna
The nearly 50 species of plants in the Monstera genus all share some incredible traits, like being world class climbers! š§ These plants use aerial roots to grab onto trees as they grow up towards the sun. They've been known to grow more than 60ft/18m tall and many have holes (fenestrations) in the leaves that are believed to help sunlight pass through to lower leaves. The genus name Monstera comes from the Latin word for monstrous/abnormal and is thought to refer to these abnormal leaves!

Do I need to do anything? Just got back from a trip and noticed my monstera has this little⦠nub lol My assumption based on location is that itās trying to root further? But do I need to do anything to help it along? Or just leave it and water as normal? #Monstera #roots #NewGrowth

How to repot these monsteras? I have 2 monsteras that are due for a repot. One in a pretty poorly done LECA situation which has been dormant for like 18 months decided to sprout to life. And the other is a cutting from the first thatās experiencing aggressive root growth in water. The one in LECA has been through a lot, so Iād like to get as clean a start as possible. Can I cut off its current base, roots and all, and plant the upper part in soil? If so, where should I cut it? The one in water has roots growing out close to its node, where I previously cut. Is it event possible to pot this in a way to get new growth? Ty! #Monstera #NewGrowth
