Finding light for brom in your home

a window
brom may have difficulty thriving, and will drop leaves 🍃, without ample sunlight.
Place it less than 3 feet from a south-facing window to maximize the potential for growth.
Select your region to see how the current weather in your area affects the placement of brom in your home 🏡.
How to fertilize brom

Most potting soils come with ample nutrients which plants use to produce new growth.
By the time your plant has depleted the nutrients in its soil it’s likely grown enough to need a larger pot anyway.
To replenish this plant's nutrients, repot your brom after it doubles in size or once a year—whichever comes first.

Does anyone know what's happeneing here? It's a haworthia cooperi

Blooming haworthia 🪴 I just got this ‘haworthia springbokvlaknesis’ (I think) and it has some bloom stalks. I’m wondering what I can do to encourage the blooms sense it’s in a transition period right now 🙃 . Should I use my regular fertilizer (slow release) or just leave it ? I made some new soil with good drainage and used a teracotta pot with drainage. Let me know what you guys think !

I finally got a #haworthiatruncata I went to a local plant swap and lost my mind (only spent $65 on all these, though!) Walking through the overpriced leafy cuttings was a table that seemed plucked from my dreams. They even had a "make an offer" actual Peyote. I'm still thinking about that one. These were all grown on a windowsill, ps. Baller. #succulentsunday

#FreshLeafFriday Haworthia style🪴💚✨ I’ve been keeping them all in a window sill together and they all seem to be really liking this, new growth from all! Even a bloom on my Haworthia ‘reticulata’ (picture 4). Picture 1- savanna ‘Haworthia savanna’🪴 Picture 2- Harper ‘cathedral window Haworthia’ ⛪️ Picture 3- Rebel 🪨 ‘Haworthia Mutica’ Picture 5- Paco 🌱 ‘stomatium actutifolium’ (not a Haworthia) but lots of new growth 😉 #StomatiumAcutifolium #HappyPlants #NewGrowth #SucculentLove #SucculentSquad

Now vs. Then 😏✨🪴 my ‘cathedral window Haworthia’ has grown so much since I got it. I love tracking my growth & Greg makes that a lot easier for me 😉💕. I can’t believe how good Harper has done she really exceeded my expectations! This was one of my first wishlist plants when I started out my oasis. #ProudPlantParent #Haworthia #HappyPlants #NewGrowth #SucculentLove

Root rot, I may have over cared for my cymbiformis a little too much. He has been unhappy since the day I got him I need some intense instruction on how to make him happy again please! #RootRot #Haworthia #help #PlantsMakePeopleHappy

This isn’t a zebra plant. It’s some type of aloe plant. Can anyone identify it for me? #HaworthiaFasciata

Happy #FreshLeafFriday ! 🌱💕✨ this week has been a pretty busy plant week, the next couple weeks will probably be busy as well. (stay tuned) 🤭 Today I finished my jade arrangement from yesterday by adding some natural pebble top dress 🪨 it looks much cleaner now, I can’t wait to see how it grows! 🌱 - I was so proud of how smooth that arrangement went I decided to make another one 😆 I was feeling pretty bold clearly. (Succulent arrangements can be daunting for me) 🤫 - anyways I used an old painted pot & decided not to overthink it and use what I had on hand. I used a piece of golden sedum, climbing aloe, & a (mystery) pachyveria or pachyphytum. If you know what it is comment below because I still can’t seem to figure it out. -Picture 4- one of the crowded Haworthia pups from my good #PlantPenPal @Lifeis2short 🥹💕🪴 her name is Okie cause she is all the way from Oklahoma! 😆 Lastly my bonsai jack came today which I mixed with some #Succulent soil & perlite, to use for my newly potted plants. I’m hoping they will like this mix, & that they will benefit from the drainage it provides. (They also sent me a multi-use poker tool) - I hope everyone has a great weekend, & you get to spend some time with your plants! Drop pictures of your new plants or fresh repots! 🪴🤩💚 #SucculentSquad #SucculentLove #Haworthia #Jade #PlantTherapy #repotted #HappyPlants #SoillessPottingMediums

I planted these in the turtle planter my bf got me for my beithfay this weekend. I really love how the colors compliment the color of the turtle shell! However I’m not crazy about the spiller element (stonecrop; can’t remember name atm) it just doesn’t look as good as I thought it would, and I think I could find something that would a little better. My original plan was to get a sanseveria fern wood of some type, but I haven’t gotten that far yet. 😅 but I’ll update y’all when I get it how i originally planned. #HappyPlants #SucculentSquad #SucculentLove #Succulents #Echeveria #Haworthia #Stonecrop #PlantAddict

Hi, I have my star cactus at office table which is not near a window. So the light that plant gets from the lights in the hall. Is it enough to grow this ? How do i notice if its not getting enough light ? #Haworthia
brom thrives in dry soil and should be watered sparingly. Use our water calculator to personalize watering recommendations to your environment or download Greg for more advanced recommendations for all of your plants.
☀️ Sunlight Needs
brom may have difficulty thriving and will drop leaves 🍃 without ample sunlight. Place it less than 3 feet from a window to maximize the potential for growth. Select your region to see how the current weather in your area affects the placement in your home 🏡.
🐶 🐈 👶 Toxicity
Greg does not have confirmed data on this plant’s toxicity. If you, a family member, or a pet consumes plant material of unknown toxicity, it’s always best to consult a medical professional.
If you or someone else ingested this plant, call Poison Control at US (800) 222-1222. If a pet consumed this plant, contact your veterinarian or the ASPCA at US (888) 426-4435.
💨 Humidity
brom prefers dry environments. Providing extra humidity or misting your plant allows water to linger on leaves, which can create the perfect environment for harmful types of fungi.
🪴 Soil
brom is very sensitive to wet soil, so choose a potting soil that drains very well and doesn’t retain too much moisture. A good soil will have lots of perlite or vermiculite for drainage and some organic matter for nutrition. A few handfuls of perlite added to regular store-bought cactus soil will do the trick!
💩 Fertilizer
brom grows very slowly and doesn’t require added fertilizer. Replacing your plant’s potting soil once a year should provide them with more than enough nutrition. Remember, plants get their energy from sunlight, not fertilizer!
❄️ Dormancy
It’s common for brom to go dormant in the summertime and you may notice their growth slow down. Waterings should be spaced out more during this time.
🌎 Native Region
brom is native to Southern Africa.
🧐 Troubleshooting
When troubleshooting a sad-looking houseplant, start by checking for signs of distress in its leaves, such as yellowing, browning, or drooping, which can indicate overwatering or nutrient deficiencies.
Inspect the soil moisture; too dry or too wet soil can cause problems.
Ensure the plant is getting the right amount of light, as too much or too little can stress it.
Finally, consider environmental factors like temperature and humidity, and adjust care routines accordingly to revive your plant.
Care Summary for brom
brom
Greg recommends:

0.5 cups every 12 days
