Calathea 'Flamestar'
About Calathea 'Flamestar'
Many of the houseplants we used to know as Calatheas now belong to the genus Goeppertia (say that three times fast). These plants have delightfully patterned leaves that come in all sorts of colors and shapes! Commonly known as prayer plants, the leaves of some species fold up at night through a process called nyctinasty meaning night movement! 😴

How to fertilize Calathea 'Flamestar'
Most potting soils come with ample nutrients which plants use to produce new growth.
By the time your plant has depleted the nutrients in its soil it’s likely grown enough to need a larger pot anyway.
To replenish this plant's nutrients, repot your Calathea 'Flamestar' after it doubles in size or once a year—whichever comes first.

The leaves are drooping and I’m not sure why. I have it near a window that faces southeast. Is it not getting enough light? (It’s overcast today so it’s a bit dark) #Goeppertia

Curling leaves and droopy My calathea seems very happy as she is putting out a lot! of new growth. However she's not very pretty with a lot of her leaves curling up and others having wiggly edges? The plant also looks a bit droopy, even after I've watered her.. is there something I could be doing better?

Jelly fish roots. While very cutesy & very demure… it’s well. Awful ! Root rot 🥹😭 I didn’t know she was in straight up coco coir or peat moss. Whatever this is!!! I wanted her to seriously acclimate before I repotted. Well that was not in my favor 🥹🍃 here’s to hoping she doesn’t die 😉😁✨☀️ I’m out of hydrogen peroxide too 😭 now is not the time!!! #PlantsMakePeopleHappy #RootPorn #RootRot #WHY #CalatheaCrew
