Calathea 'Flamestar'
About Calathea 'Flamestar'
Many of the houseplants we used to know as Calatheas now belong to the genus Goeppertia (say that three times fast). These plants have delightfully patterned leaves that come in all sorts of colors and shapes! Commonly known as prayer plants, the leaves of some species fold up at night through a process called nyctinasty meaning night movement! 😴

How to fertilize Calathea 'Flamestar'
Most potting soils come with ample nutrients which plants use to produce new growth.
By the time your plant has depleted the nutrients in its soil it’s likely grown enough to need a larger pot anyway.
To replenish this plant's nutrients, repot your Calathea 'Flamestar' after it doubles in size or once a year—whichever comes first.

My plant is drying out but I do water it once a week. #CathedralWindows

I was so scared when I bought my first calathea as I saw so many people say it was difficult. I’ve never had me hopes up. But today she’s a year old. Feels like a milestone 😂

Is there any saving my calathea? When I first brought her home she was beautiful. The soil didn’t look so great so I put her into new soil, which I’m thinking is what the cause of this is. Is she in shock? How can I fix this? I know these are very delicate plants to care for, needs humidity and such. But it’s been about a week like this so I’m getting worried that it’s ruined. #CalatheaCrew

Hello everyone 🤗 Just starting today with showing off one of my Makoyana 😊 I am so in love with this plant. It was one of my first "real" plants (for when I started "planting"). I know a lot of Calatheas are real dramas, but this one is a power-plant in my house🪴💪. (I tried giving one to my mom and my sister, as they are growing and multiplying rapidly in my house, but they obviously didn't fall natural for them or their home😅). So what are your favourite plants, and why?😃 #happyplants #plantsmakepeoplehappy #plantaddict #calatheacrew #makoyana #thewateringhole #adhdplantlovers #calathea #calatheacorner #goeppertia #freshleaffriday #brunchataudreys

How do I care for this plant?? Help. I was recently gifted this plant but I don’t know how to care for anything except for succulents (quite poorly). How do I care for it? How much water does it need? I need recommendations so I don’t kill this plant. #NewPlant #howtogrow #help #RattlesnakePlant

Wilted #RoseCalathea I have repotted my plant two weeks after purchasing it from the store. It has been two weeks now since I repotted. It is under medium to low grow light. Soil feels moist but not too damp to touch. It has been cold, but the house temp is in 67-70F. The plant has been wilting since repot. Am I missing something? Or should I just let it be and get acclimated? TIA @DreamMachine

Dun dun DUN. Happy Saturday (or Sunday) everyone!☀️ Repotting day is finally here for my huge pinstripe calathea. (Or night, as it is 2.30 am here rn🙈). And girl, holy shmoly MACARONI🤣🤣🪴 I knew she was rootbound, but.. like.. how were you happy in there??🤣 Crossing fingers she will be happy in her new home too🤞🤞 Also, she has a new leaf coming in, I didn't even notice. I usually try to repot when they are dormant to not damage new leaves 🙈 Fingers crossed everyone🤞🤞 #thewateringhole #happyplants #plantsmakepeoplehappy #plantaddict #newgrowth #repotoclock #rootporn #calatheacrew #calatheacorner #calathea #goeppertia #pinstripeplant #adhdplantlovers
