How to fertilize Alocasia Odora Variegated Aurea

Most potting soils come with ample nutrients which plants use to produce new growth.
By the time your plant has depleted the nutrients in its soil it’s likely grown enough to need a larger pot anyway.
To replenish this plant's nutrients, repot your Alocasia Odora Variegated Aurea after it doubles in size or once a year—whichever comes first.

What are these? The Internet says corms, but they're not under the soil and coming directly from the original stem. They look interesting!

Update on Miss Merlot, the Alocasia Red Secret! ♥️ She is under a grow light in my bedroom and has been giving me nice big, deep red leaves. These photos DO NOT do her justice. The way the light plays off her iridescence is awe inspiring. Two new leaf shoots are popping up also! #alocasiaaddicts #alocasia #alocasiaredsecret #alocasiacuprearedsecret #happyplants #jesssjungle #plantaddict #plantsmakepeoplehappy #planttherapy

I'm taking over the care of this girl from my mother. Would succulent and cactus mix be ok to use? Do you think she needs a bigger pot? Thank you #BlackVelvetAlocasia

This drama mama plant will be the end of meeee I got this Alocasia from Plant Con Houston a maybe two weeks ago. I know they can be finicky so I gave it a good week of adjustment before fiddling with her. Ahe began losing leaves almost immediately upon entering my home. She was extremely root bound so a week or so ago i repotted her and gave her a nice mix soil of indoor soil mix, orchid bark, perlite and some peat moss. Anyways…everyday i pass by her and she just is getting discolored leaves. To the point that the baby leaves she came here with have already just fallen off basically. She is right next to my humidifier which runs almost all day. My hygrometer reads over 60% humidity all day. The resting humidity without a humidifier is right at 60%. The leaves feel soft and not crunchy

I got what I think is either a silver dragon or dragon scale alocasia and I believe it’s VERIGATED I’m so excited!! I had to repot her a few hours after I got her cause I noticed bug eggs EVERYWHERE in the soil and I’m glad I did because the pot was too large and some roots were rotting so fingers crossed all goes well *found at walmart*
