I put water sealer on my planter boxes so they last longer because they’re outside they are outside in the Florida heat and humidity. The next stage will be one more coat of sealer and then the interior liner. I will have it all done by this evening. Admission is free, and they also have various volunteer slots available (I signed up to volunteer in the "Plant Hotel" for a few hours on Sunday 🤓). They'll have 40+ vendors, many of whom are selling rare or unusual succulents & cacti you can't find in stores. The plants in the greenhouse are about to face Houston’s scorching summer. I’ve set up fans and shade for those that will be going dormant and allowing my winter dormant plants to enjoy the sunshine without drying up. When I water I need to know who’s who. So to save having to write on labels I decided to use a color scheme with yellow for summer dormant and light blue for winter. Oh and they asked me if I wanted to add something to my order. I put two sedum adolphi leaf props in rockwool as soon as they had some roots. One died, but this other one is doing great. I’m tempted to try an echeveria next.
