I normally don’t do a veggie garden at my house and generally stick to growing fruits and herbs, but this year I decided to reuse some retired recycled old bins. I lost like half the screws, and they look utterly terrible. Luckily, no one can see them in my backyard behind my old shed (built in 1947) and my greenhouse. I was worried about finding a way to keep my blackberries away from tomatoes and/or my raspberries away from them as well. Being in the nightshade family, they will not grow well together. 😬🤦‍♀️ With that being said, I’m so excited, we are already getting peppers, we have the cutest tiny orange tomatoes. With a bell pepper 🫑 that looks like the cutest little bum cheeks you wanna pinch! 🤏 or a giant green tooth. 🦷 😂 But the patch next to them, as some needs I needed to plant up.. so we’ll see, purple broccoli, artichokes, and some crock neck lumpy squash (my favorite thing to fry up in summer). Hello everyone. I saw this tree today. It was flowering and had dozens of bees 🐝 on it. Very cool. The Greg plant ID says it is a “ Chaste Tree”. Does anyone have another ID for this wonderful plant/tree. So a lot of people don't like the devil's backbone cactus. Very easy cactus to take care of. I got this from my neighbor. The original plant that this was propagated off of has been in his family since he was a child. My neighbor is well into his late 70s. He had this plant 2 years before he gave it to me. Rule of thumb! ALWAYS repot your nursery plants. It’s not blasted everywhere so everyone thinks nurseries are out to get them by intentionally killing their plants so they have to buy a new one after a few months. But that’s really not the case! Stock sits at wholesalers for months in the same pots. Overtime the potting media wears down, breaks down and fills up the pore space where oxygen should be, making the soil heavily compacted. By the time it gets to a nursery and then sits in the stock, it might of been in that same pot to up to a year. The roots are yearning for more room, the soil is basically dead dirt at that point, and ur plant is starving & suffocating. They will always appreciate a repot as soon as it’s settled into your environment. And if you’re too nervous to do it, just ask your local nursery worker - we do it allll the time and most of us are happy to help :) (please note not ALL plants will come like this, sometimes they’ve been recently repotted or other factors, but you can really tell, the mix will be fluffy and fresh still, compacted soil is bouncy and stuck together) Hello people reading this! my names Isabelle, I’ve been a silent observer throughout my studies and I’m feeling confident enough to share what I have learnt and what I will continue to learn throughout my endeavours #pottingadvice #PlantTips #advice #HappyPlants #PlantAddict #NewGrowth #NewPlantMom #Horticulture #Soils

Hello everyone. This is a photo of my hibiscus plant. It was damaged severely by the extended frost we had here in Central Florida. I thought I had lost it. I cut it down to the ground and saw small green leaves at its base. That was about three months ago. I’m not sure how long these plants live. The Internet says about 5-10 years. I planted this plant 40 years ago in 1986. It has a very extensive root system. It has been hit by frost multiple times through the decades and it’s always managed to survive.
