Good evening everyone. I, sincerely, hope you are well. Wow, since I come over to Greg from Facebook I have found it to be a great forum, not only to learn but to post my photography of plants from the Green Swamp Wilderness Preserve and the Withlacoochee State Forest in west central Florida. Of course this is addition to my own plants and trees. This is a photo I took of a Costal Plain Chaffhead (Florida Paintbrush). It’s a great pollinator. Say hello to Sekka! He's a petrified cypress, or hinoki cypress. (Full botanical name: Chamaecyparis obtusa 'Sekka') Easily the best part of Sekka are those dense, scale-like leaves! I've never seen a wild one, only as bonsai. Its branches tend to grow long and straight, so frequent trimming is a must. Growth has been great lately, all that bright light green foliage is fresh growth from being repotted earlier this year. However, airflow inside wasn't ideal, and as you can see, the inner leaves died off. I cleaned those out and gave it a light trim. Good airflow is a vital part of keeping any tree healthy, big or small; it even helps keep pesky bugs away (in theory!). I’ve got several more of these in various styles, that also need trimming and cleaning up. How about your trees and plants, how’s the growth? One of my favourite bonsai is starting to flower and fruit. Look how tiny these are! 🥰 This is a Hong Kong kumquat, golden bean kumquat or the Japanese kinzu. 🍊 The fruits grow about the size of a finger nail and have virtually zero pulp, just seeds and won't fully ripen until late January. #Bonsai #HappyPlants #PlantsMakePeopleHappy #PlantAddict #NewGrowth #OutdoorGrowing

For my birthday me and a couple of my friends went plant shopping! So wanted to show yall my b-day plant hall! So after a disappointing day at work. I decided that I was finally going to drive over to Home Depot. I hate driving on that side of town. If bumper cars and the Indy 500 had a baby it would be that side of town. I have been seeing all over Facebook that Home Depot had Hoyas. They do!!!! 😍 So many at different prices. I didn't find the one I was looking for but I did pick up some cuties. I also got a echeveria article frost at Lowes the other day. I saw a woman on Facebook that used a metal ring as a trellis for a hoya. I attached it with the hook. I just wish I could find somewhere to hang it 😕. Hello 👋 plant friends and #TheWateringHole crew! It’s Thursday afternoon and I’m taking a watering break 💦 🪴! I know we’re supposed to water early but that’s just not always possible 🤪 Besides I got distracted admiring each of the 🌱🌱🌱🌱 on the schedule 👀. This snake plant 🐍 🪴 is one of my earliest on Greg. I got him November 2021 and joined Greg January 2022 🗓️ 😮. Doesn’t seem that long ago!!! Anyway last year he gave me a scare 😬 tipping to one side, I checked his roots to discover there were hardly any!! I’d been gleefully bottom watering 🥣 💧 thinking the water was wicking up but that wasn’t it. His roots were dry, soil at bottom was wet, and I was faced with a dying plant. Down potted way down, probably a good 2” smaller pot, with fresh soil and stakes for support. Gave him a grow light. Here are his roots today 😊 🎉 🪴 So when did you join Greg? Good morning everyone. I was working outside on my butterfly garden at sunrise before the heat kicked it. Here is another photograph that I took of Cypress trees along the Withlacoochee River. That may also be an American beauty berry bush that is growing wild at the bottom left of the photo. This is about 6 miles west of The headwaters photo that I posted. Hello everyone, I just had this person attempt to scam me and I know I’m not the only one on Greg to encounter this person. It says it’s “for real”, but it has no plants on its page. It is accumulating points on Greg by just pasting the same scams and posting them on other people‘s pages. In addition notice the foul mouthed abbreviations on its post. Beware of this scam. If I may suggest don’t engage this “person”. If you respond, then they know they have somebody that will respond and will pass your name around.
