Hello and calling all #hoyaheads in the US. Just want to let you know about an awesome shop I found on Palmstreet…after I finally figured out how it worked . (It’s generally way too stimulating for me 🤪) Now I just have this shop The Hoya Heaux (🤣🤣🤣) bookmarked, and don’t use anything else. It’s a small family business selling both unrooted and nicely-rooted hoya cuttings and small plants. Everything I’ve got from them has been exceptionally healthy, unique, and packed well, and usually between $1-20 😱 Anyhoo, their next “live” is this Friday 6/26 at 8:30pm CST. Morning - these two Alocasia plants, one a Dragon Scale, the other a Red Cuprea! I grew them from corms. They are exploding with growth. I never thought I would see this. They both have new leaves coming as well. Sure does make my day. I hope it adds to yours. 😍 #TheWateringHole

Hello everyone, Here is a “family” portrait of my Avacado plants/trees. I do not propagate my avocado pits in water. First, I soaked the pit in water for about an hour and peel off the outer layer skin. I put them in the soil in a pot, cover them in dirt about 3/4 of the way pointed side up. Then I place a clear plastic cup over the pit and keep the soil moist. Not all the pits will sprout, but about 50%. From the week old baby in the front to eight months old tress in the back. Good morning wonderful plant friends. This is my beautiful Crêpe Myrtle. I planted it many years ago. A few years back it was damaged by several hurricanes and it looked like it was dying. Last year it appeared to be almost completely dead. As a result, I took a chainsaw and, sadly, cut it down. Now it’s coming back with a vengeance. I’m very happy. I guess all it needed was a good pruning. Happy Thursday #TheWateringHole! ☀️ I’m on summer break and today was all about plants (yippee! 🥳) So I wanted to share some of the fun I’ve had… 🌱 I took four different varieties of Philo Brasils that I had in separate small pots and potted them up in a single pot. They’ve been drying out super fast in their little pots, so 🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻 this will make my life easier. I also think they look sweet all together 🥰 🌱 The cuttings I took from my Hawaiian Pothos finally had enough roots, so I added them to a big pot with the mama plant. Again, hoping this will dry out slower than it has been. And I’m loving how big and lush it looks on top of our hutch 🤗 🌱 Last pic is my growing collection of planted cuttings to sell from our craft sale table in July. It’s so fun to see all these babies get settled into their pots 🪴 What’s going on in your oases today? How are you managing all of your summer growth? 🌱☀️ #debbiedo

It’s Wednesday at #TheWateringHole 🌿🌤️ Good morning everybody, or should I say good day [good evening, and goodnight!] ? After several days of ~95° 🥵 I am so very very grateful to be back down in the 70°s 😮‍💨 My plants, however, thought it was swell! As I was moving around my plants this morning I was thinking about the satisfying little tasks of plant care that are delightful. For me, one of my favorites is plucking off the totally brown and dried-up sheathes of cane begonia leaves. No force necessary, once they are brown and shriveled, I just touch them and they fall off in my hands. And I don’t *have* to do this, as they will fall off eventually by themselves, but it brings me joy. 🥰 Another one is when I water, and the saucer fills up but does not overflow, and later when I go to check all the water was sucked back up and the pot is the perfect “well-watered weight.” Do you have any small plant care tasks or activities that give you satisfaction or delight? Also, eeee, new Hoya callistophyla leaf 🥳 ⏱️Want to be notified of these posts when they come out? Good evening everyone. I hope you are doing well. This is my blanket plant that I bought at the County master gardeners nursery about three months ago. It has not stopped blooming. A friend of mine also has one and hers has not stopped blooming either. Wow, I don’t think I’ve ever seen a plant bloom this much. #TheWateringHole Good afternoon and Happy Saturday! It was a hellacious week at work, but today I’ve enjoyed tending plants, bird feeders, birdbath, hummingbird feeder, and a good walk around the neighborhood. When I got back from my walk, I snapped a few pics of our outdoor blooms. The flowering pots were bought last Sunday at Walmart and Home Depot so we can’t take any credit for those. God has provided plenty of water so we haven’t had to bother with that. I had to run out to Walmart from work on Monday to pick up something for a patient. I took a swing through the garden center to see if the pothos I had eyed the previous week was still there. I had been suffering from “will power remorse”. It was still there and still the only one of that particular one they had. Meet Albert, my Albo Pothos. Now, I really have to start excercising some will power!! I’ve been repotting for the last few days, and I’ll tell you I’m exhausted 🥱. Also trying to keep up with a ten-year-old; even with my coffee, it wasn’t enough. 🤣🤦‍♀️ Jeez; no, I’m just feeling old. 😅 But we are here for the plants, so here are a few I’ve been working on. Hey #TheWateringHole friends! I went to my first Plant Swap today! 🪴 My goal was to come home with less than I took and I was successful 🙌🥳🎉 The first pic is the bin I took to give away, and the second pic is what I came home with. Look at these cuties! 📸 The succulent I got for free and the three little Hoyas I bought. The two tiny ones are Serpens Silver (or maybe splash?) 🌱 The other reminds me of a Wayetii, but is actually a. Espaldoniana. I can’t find much about them, but the seller said she got it as a free cutting when she bought plants from Ric Moreir (that’s a new name to me, but I got the impression that he’s a big Hoya name). Has anyone ever heard of the plant OR the person? 🤔 Either way, I love it!!! 💚 It’s BLISSFULLY cool here today (62F) and my hubby is cooking his famous Zuppa Toscana for dinner tonight. So it’s an awesome day 🤗 What are you all up to??? #debbiedo

It’s Wednesday at #TheWateringHole 🌿🌤️ Good morning everybody, or should I say good day [good evening, and goodnight!] ? After several days of ~95° 🥵 I am so very very grateful to be back down in the 70°s 😮‍💨 My plants, however, thought it was swell! As I was moving around my plants this morning I was thinking about the satisfying little tasks of plant care that are delightful. For me, one of my favorites is plucking off the totally brown and dried-up sheathes of cane begonia leaves. No force necessary, once they are brown and shriveled, I just touch them and they fall off in my hands. And I don’t *have* to do this, as they will fall off eventually by themselves, but it brings me joy. 🥰 Another one is when I water, and the saucer fills up but does not overflow, and later when I go to check all the water was sucked back up and the pot is the perfect “well-watered weight.” Do you have any small plant care tasks or activities that give you satisfaction or delight? Good evening everyone. I hope you are doing well. This is my blanket plant that I bought at the County master gardeners nursery about three months ago. It has not stopped blooming. A friend of mine also has one and hers has not stopped blooming either. Wow, I don’t think I’ve ever seen a plant bloom this much. #TheWateringHole Good afternoon and Happy Saturday! It was a hellacious week at work, but today I’ve enjoyed tending plants, bird feeders, birdbath, hummingbird feeder, and a good walk around the neighborhood. When I got back from my walk, I snapped a few pics of our outdoor blooms. The flowering pots were bought last Sunday at Walmart and Home Depot so we can’t take any credit for those. God has provided plenty of water so we haven’t had to bother with that. I had to run out to Walmart from work on Monday to pick up something for a patient. I took a swing through the garden center to see if the pothos I had eyed the previous week was still there. I had been suffering from “will power remorse”. It was still there and still the only one of that particular one they had. Meet Albert, my Albo Pothos. Now, I really have to start excercising some will power!! I’ve been repotting for the last few days, and I’ll tell you I’m exhausted 🥱. Also trying to keep up with a ten-year-old; even with my coffee, it wasn’t enough. 🤣🤦‍♀️ Jeez; no, I’m just feeling old. 😅 But we are here for the plants, so here are a few I’ve been working on. Hey #TheWateringHole friends! I went to my first Plant Swap today! 🪴 My goal was to come home with less than I took and I was successful 🙌🥳🎉 The first pic is the bin I took to give away, and the second pic is what I came home with. Look at these cuties! 📸 The succulent I got for free and the three little Hoyas I bought. The two tiny ones are Serpens Silver (or maybe splash?) 🌱 The other reminds me of a Wayetii, but is actually a. Espaldoniana. I can’t find much about them, but the seller said she got it as a free cutting when she bought plants from Ric Moreir (that’s a new name to me, but I got the impression that he’s a big Hoya name). Has anyone ever heard of the plant OR the person? 🤔 Either way, I love it!!! 💚 It’s BLISSFULLY cool here today (62F) and my hubby is cooking his famous Zuppa Toscana for dinner tonight. So it’s an awesome day 🤗 What are you all up to??? #debbiedo
