I’ve been out all day working in the yard planting and weeding, watering, plus you all the rest. Anyway, thought I’d share some banana pics and others. Hi everyone!! Long time no see sorry we’ve been pretty busy 😅 hope y’all are doing great! we’re still planting away!! I can’t begin to express how deeply this plant holds significance for me. It belonged to my foster father, who passed away in September 2025. When we were cleaning out his apartment, I took it because it was in a state of disrepair. My foster father was battling numerous health issues, including the amputation of his right leg above the knee, which caused him immense emotional and physical pain. When I say the plant was in poor condition, I mean it was in a truly dire state. I brought it home and placed it in a cup of water. A few days ago, I noticed that it had developed beautiful new roots, so I transferred it to a 10 inch clay pot. This plant is named Kevin in memory of my foster father, who has passed away. I apologize for sharing this sad story, but I wanted to convey the profound impact this plant has had on my life. #HappyPlants #PlantsMakePeopleHappy #NewGrowth #PlantTherapy #PlantDads

I got these adorable baby plants yesterday! They were only $3 each and the seller was super nice. One is a Chinese Money Plant and the other is a pink turtle vine (callisia repens) whiich I have been known to kill before 😅 I’ve learned a lot since my last turtle vine and I’m hoping to do better now! Still any advice on either of these plants is much appreciated.. My new babies arrived today! The four I’ve been waiting for months to arrive; finally arrived! Yay! Then my Hoya surprise plants came today! Hello my loves! 🥰🌿 It’s a wet drizzly 🌧️☔️💦🌲🌲🌲Wednesday here in the PNW, and I had roughly 1 billion pounds of library books to return today. But luckily my library is only a three minute walk, I had my trusty wagon, (complete with a VERY classy 💅🏼 clear trash bag to protect my books 📚 ), and I just adore walking through the mini two-acre nature preserve that sits right next to the library. 🌲🌲🪾🌲🪵🌿 I have a book recommendation for those that have gotten interested in botany. I ended up buying the book because I love it so much. Botany in a Day, by Thomas J. Elpel Instead of learning plants one at a time, this book helps you recognize and learn the PATTERNS of the FAMILIES of the plants. 🪴 Once you have the families down, you could potentially recognize a plant in the wild, and know something about it, even if you don’t know its name! There’s also many pages of quick guides, to things like flower terms 🌻 leaf shapes 🍃and plant family keys 📖. I can’t recommend it enough! Plus one more pic of my new geogenanthus poeppigii because I love him so much 🥰🥰🥰 How are you all doing today? Yay! I’m so excited to get my Boswellia sacra outside and into the sun. She’s loving it. If you don’t recognize the plant name by the genius, it’s commonly known as Frankincense, the sacred frankincense. Frankincense is an amazing plant for its resin, otherwise known as “tears,” is considered the finest in the world; but for anyone who prefers to use homeopathic remedies, it’s highly recommended.
