Good morning everyone. It’s going to be another hot one in West Central Florida today. I got up at 6:30 AM and finished mowing the front of my property. I’m now sitting in a chair outside eating a banana and drinking some coffee. I planted this banana last year and it was doing very well. Then a, very unusual, frost hit Florida in January. It was unusual because we had two weeks in a row of freezing and below freezing weather. In my 48 years of living in Florida, I’ve not seen that much cold weather at one time. I covered the banana bush multiple times with multiple blankets. Despite all that the frost killed it all the way down to the ground level. This is another plant that I thought I had lost. I cut off all the dead stuff mulched it into the dirt around the plant. Now it is doing very well. I haven’t added it to my oasis until today. Thank you for reading this mini blog. Got some new little buddies today! I was laughing. I ordered a black Babylon hoya, and I got a second as a mystery plant on the same day! Ha ha 🤣 🤦‍♀️ Well, who knows? It came!!!! Plant Mail 🪴 #happyplants #hoyahangout #hoya My hoya freckles. So pretty 😍. I got the little USB humidifier at the thrift store today for $3. I always see them on Amazon. Was wondering how well they work. Went to Walmart this morning. They have some pots on sale. Snagged that 6 in for $5. Good Evening, I love coming home to things like this- so I thought I’d share. Major progress on the Mint monstera. I’m 2 treatments into the Captain Jacks copper fungicide treatment and it seems to be working great. I was very unimpressed with the state of the this plant , but now I am happy. I think there’s a teeny fenestration that I see ?!😲. Anyways, I hope you had a great day! Yesterday I had to repot my Snake plant. It got so big it was coming up out of the pot. I always take the old soil and put it in a tree or bush out in the yard. My husband found this little guy deep down in the pot. He had to be at the bottom of the 12 inch pot because I was all up in that pot and did not see him. Hey I’m back in a not so positive mood i found spider mites on many plants. Didn’t know they were causing so much trouble but even so I took some drastic measures ( buzz cutting the leaves ) it’s NOT fun. First the universe or wtv threw aphids. Gone. Thrips. Almost gone/redused AND ALL OF THIS MANUALLY CAUSE I WAS BORED TO WALK A DISTANCE OF NOT EVEN A KILOMETER TO THE AGRICULTURE STORE. AND NOW SPIDER MITES? Girl I- I DID SEE THEM BUT I SAID SUM SHI LIKE “ Awwww cute lil bug make yourself at home 🥰 “ NO. First it was my tumeric. Then it was my beloved chamomile which I wish is not gonna die. Then my fennel. MY FRENCH LAVENDER YALL DONT KNO IM OUT HERE TRYING TO FIND ALL OF THEM FROM MORNING TILL ALMOST NIGHT. If they touch my lemongrass I’m going crazy. I’m gonna spread the negativitest energy on them. I am starting to forget how to write in English I’m gonna cry cause the lavender is pale and fuzzy WHICH MAKES IT HARDER TO SPOT THEM. Also my lavender might have bortytis HOW IS IT EVEN SPELLED. IT S ALREADY GRAYISH HOW AM I SUPPOSEDTO FIND THE MOLD. If sb read all of this novellike post you the ogs Ilove you pls don’t claim my negative energy I’m keeping it for them. Also quick question. Is Audrey ok? Hello everyone, I had a wonderful day yesterday and my birthday. We went down to Tarpon Springs for dinner and then went out to Anclote key, which is one of my favorite places. Anclote Key is located 4 miles offshore in the Gulf from Tarpon Springs, Florida and is only accessible by boat. Thought I’d share a few little buddies! The first two Hoyas are some new buddies: Hoya bird of paradise and a Hoya Meredithii (Gunung Kapi), the other a purple-vein alocasia; and then my little cute Dino anthurium had a beautiful companion pop up.
