I ventured out this morning to inspect the plants before the sun becomes too intense and bright. I’m back inside now, but not before capturing a few photos. The greenhouse is incredibly humid this morning! The acclimating outdoor plants are looking remarkably better. I’m so happy! My undulata is actually looking pretty good; this is one of my first ever Hoyas. I’ve heard these ones can be a little more tricky? Hello my loves 🫶🌿 Happy Tuesday #TheWateringHole , or should I say, happy #untidytuesday 😏 (It’s ALWAYS #untidytuesday at my house, ha ha ha! 😂😄…🥺😭😭 ) It’s been hot here, the last few days (80° F 🥵) and we are all looking forward to rain 🌧️ ☔️ tomorrow and in the 60°’s again, ahhh 🧘‍♀️. Plus that means I might not have to water anything outside 🤞🤞 I’ve been putzing around, doing planty chores, and checking on all my props from @IdPlantThat 🥰 Practically EVERYONE has been doing great 🙌 My new favorite method of propagating!: Perlite + a ziplock bag + my own hot air 🌬️ I live in a cool, wet climate, as most of you know already, and I had horrible luck with sphag. It always molds 🦠 instantly, or at least, within 12 hours 😵‍💫 I love this perlite + bag method because it is not inducive to mold growth, roots grown in perlite are more like soil roots already, and each bag is its own humidity box AND quarantine station! I just had to share my kitchen plants; I’m so excited about these babies! That and my Prestonia quinquangularis is finally making her beautiful comeback! When she arrived, she had terrible travel shock, and I lost her to the point of a single stem. She’s finally looking better. I’m so excited. My majestic philodendron started opening into new, gorgeous, bigger leaves. I love my pink plants. So don’t be surprised if you see more pinks 🫶🏻🌸🩵🐾🪴 My citruses arrived today! So excited. It’s a Dwarf Buddha Hand Citrus Tree; Rio Red Grapefruit; Sunquat Tree; Marumi Kumquat; Fukushu Kumquat Tree; Eustis Limequat Tree, and then my caladium bulbs. We got our heat-reflective sun tarps up, so I’ve been moving things in and out of the garage all day. So excited to see my greenhouse in a happier place! I’m sure, like so many of us, we are trying to counter all this crazy weather. It’s been so unpredictable; we’ve gone from a couple of days into the 80’s to freezing again! Which isn’t uncommon for Utah weather… but omg my poor plants. 🌱 😂 So we got smart and put a heat-reflecting greenhouse tarp over the roof. I can’t believe how much it lowers the heat! So happy to have done it. How do I care for moss ball plants? I made my first moss ball to hold my huperzia carinata. The root ball was watered and then I put about an inch of moss around it, then watered the ball.
