It’s Saturday afternoon and despite the forecast of grey clouds ☁️ all day, we’ve got some sunshine ☀️! The last few days were hectic so happy to just hang out today, water some of the 40 waiting for 💦, get some laundry 🧺 done and watch a little baseball ⚾️ 😄. Had to show off my tricolor wayetii who is back in full bloom, again! She gets the award 🏆🥇for blooming. This side of her alone, there are 7 peduncle/blooms🤩🌸🌸🌸🌸🌸

Hello @MariansOasis and everyone at #TheWateringHole ! It started out as a productive Saturday with a lot of watering. When you have a new bags of perlite and Bonsai Jack’s Gritty Mix and a bathroom in need of cleaning you know what’s going to happen : plantcrastination! I repotted my Sansevieria Mikado in the pot my moonshine snake 🐍 plant used to be. My Golden Hahnii snake 🐍 plant looked a bit cramped in her 3 inch pot so it got repotted. It was hot in the garage so I stopped the repotting projects. My hubby took me to get ice cream . Still haven’t cleaned the bathroom yet.
@MariansOasis @RefinedSandwort Oh my Lord! I might not even be around in 4 years to see it get that big! Lol I've got some that have taken off since I got them last year and some that are taking their sweet time.

I did some repotting and trellising today, and then went to a fun meeting of our local orchid club! The people there were so knowledgeable and I came home with a few babies to try my hand at something other than phaelaenopsis. The host had an incredible greenhouse in his backyard where he was growing at least 100 varieties. He makes these cool “orchid trees” out of found hardwood stems, and puts them in his greenhouse to attach his orchids to! It’s stunning!
@MamaLinne lucky you to have a local orchid club! That greenhouse of his looks amazing and the orchid trees are such a great idea! I’d dying to know which orchids you brought home 🏡👍

@MamaLinne so exciting!!!! Howard’s Dream is a Beallara which is a an oncidium hybrid. Gorgeous large purple flowers 😍. I have a Bllra. Big Shot’Pink Leopard’ and I love it! Be super consistent with watering. Mine developed several accordion leaves because I didn’t realize how particular it could be. Cattleyas were the first non Phal I tried. Got a wee one but didn’t realize it needed more light than I was giving it and not enough water. It was so little, like 2” pot and was drying out faster than I expected. I have a Brassocattleya that’s one of my favorites. It’s grown a lot but has bloomed just once. That jewel orchid is so pretty!! Unbelievable price for all those! 👍👍👍

@MariansOasis and yes, both of those cattleyas are in 2” pot. Thinking of putting them in my little humidity box until they get a bit bigger!

Sometimes it’s worth it to spend some money on a more mature one so you’ve got something going on while waiting for the babies. Still I haven’t paid more than $40 maybe?

@MariansOasis yes the babies were like $5 so I thought what the heck! Then the more mature Oncidium were $5 too. So I just picked up an assortment and will just go for it!

But… I’m nervous! I paid for two day shipping, they left on Thursday, my UPS app says they have arrived in PDX early this morning….but they’re not due until Monday!!! Ack!! (two BUSINESS DAY shipping)!! 😬😬🫣😩🫠🫠 What, are they just going to hang out in a warehouse tomorrow (Sunday)??! It’s not supposed to get past 80° but I’m nervous for my babies. 😬🫨🤞🤞 send me all your good hoya vibes 😂 I need to get in the variegated wayettii fangirl club 🤣

@FitBrowallia oh they all look so cute. So sorry some didn’t make it thru vacation time. But it happens, right?! I’m at the point with plants that they make it or they don’t. I used to fret over every little thing from watering to pests and more! Now it’s like, oh you’ve got pests and it’s driving me crazy trying to eradicate ! Be gone with you! Usually get sent outdoors, and if they still aren’t getting better we’ll, at least they got to 🪦 under a blue sky with their planty friends 🤪
