Good morning ☀️ plant family! Woke up to this newbie today! Planted 2 bare root day lilies a couple of months ago that I got on sale from rePotme. This is the first to bloom👍🙌. It’s labeled butterscotch ginger 🫠 Haven’t planted my own before, the day lilies in my yard were already here 🏡 planted by previous owner. Hello everyone, Here is a “family” portrait of my Avacado plants/trees. I do not propagate my avocado pits in water. First, I soaked the pit in water for about an hour and peel off the outer layer skin. I put them in the soil in a pot, cover them in dirt about 3/4 of the way pointed side up. Then I place a clear plastic cup over the pit and keep the soil moist. Not all the pits will sprout, but about 50%. From the week old baby in the front to eight months old tress in the back. Good morning wonderful plant friends. This is my beautiful Crêpe Myrtle. I planted it many years ago. A few years back it was damaged by several hurricanes and it looked like it was dying. Last year it appeared to be almost completely dead. As a result, I took a chainsaw and, sadly, cut it down. Now it’s coming back with a vengeance. I’m very happy. I guess all it needed was a good pruning. Bald Cypress trees. Good morning everyone. I hope this post finds you well. Here is a photo I took of the same swamp lake. It is unnamed and cannot be found on google earth. there are no trails around it. The hiking is strictly cross country. It was shown to me about forty years ago by a fellow “hiker-explorer“. Hello everyone, I had a wonderful day yesterday and my birthday. We went down to Tarpon Springs for dinner and then went out to Anclote key, which is one of my favorite places. Anclote Key is located 4 miles offshore in the Gulf from Tarpon Springs, Florida and is only accessible by boat. Fall in the swamp, but don’t fall in the swamp. 😂 Yes, Florida does have a fall season. Many people do not know this because they live around trees that do not change color like the live oak and the long leaf yellow pine. Trees like the bald Cypress are not around where there are urban areas. They are in the swamps.
