Hello everyone, Here is a “family” portrait of my Avacado plants/trees. I do not propagate my avocado pits in water. First, I soaked the pit in water for about an hour and peel off the outer layer skin. I put them in the soil in a pot, cover them in dirt about 3/4 of the way pointed side up. Then I place a clear plastic cup over the pit and keep the soil moist. Not all the pits will sprout, but about 50%. From the week old baby in the front to eight months old tress in the back. I propagated them all from pits. 🌳🌴🪾 @BabeVila @BuffCaperspurge @CutePolypremum @DanDenMan @DreamMachine @FunBoglaurel81 @HFplantoasis @HummingbirdMint @Idplantthat @ILoveMyPlants @Jadedbelle @Jujube @Luckeecharm1 @ModestCoconut13 @Ms.Persnickety @newplantgirlies @Preciousplants1 @princesspitstop @QuickKalopanax @sarah10orio @Shells_Garden @SillyPlantGirl @SizableSuncup20 @smushface @SolaceInSunshine @RefinedSandwort @Ponytailmom @MusicalRedmint @MamaLinnei @KaylaG2010 @BEsucculent #thethread #HappyPlants #PlantsMakePeopleHappy #PlantAddict #PropagationStation #OutdoorGrowing #thewateringhole #avocado
@Malagueña 👏 Great job!
I only tried to propagate an avocado pit once. And wasn’t successful! So no, not doing it again!
@Ms.Persnickety , it didn’t work with me on the first couple tries either. I was trying to propagate them in water. That does not work very well. Now I put them in a pot of soil, 3/4 of the way in the dirt and the point sticking up I cover with a clear cup, which makes it a little greenhouse. I water about every three or four days. It takes a while for it to sprout, but about half the time it works.
@Malagueña It doesn’t sound too difficult, maybe I‘ll give it another try next time I eat an Avocado 🥑, maybe…!
