It seems that my “Get Up And Go”, got up and left? I keep telling myself that I should be doing this, that, and the other but I cannot seem to get anyof it done! Oh well, tomorrow is another day! I did manage to get the plants watered, those that needed watering. So today there are 20 more asking for attention/water. And I did find a new bloom on the Rebutia Albipilosa, did you know that cacti need much more water when they are blooming, or to get them to flower. But the line between a bit more water and overwatering is very fine! And the correct balance is crucial. On my walk yesterday I saw these blooming Frangipani, it had just stopped raining and the colors looked so intense I had to take pictures. Of course I couldn’t overlook the BoP. And I don’t know who that little yellow flower belongs to, but it looked so perfect with the water droplets I just had to post it. Please keep in mind that these aren’t mine and they live outside by the parking lot. This is my 40+ year-old hibiscus and its long awaited first flower of this year. This is the one that I photographed for my oasis. The unusual frost we had here, earlier in the year, had killed it all the way down to the ground. I was very concerned about it being dead. I managed to save it and am very happy to see it quickly growing back. This is, by far,my oldest plant. I was in my 20s when I planted it. ♥️ This plant has seen me grow old. 👨🌾Wow, and now it has many buds on it. I spent several hours, this morning, gardening working with my plants pruning, watering, mowing. The heat index is up to 108 With an actual temperature of 96°. That’s enough to drive me back into the house for a while. For sometime, I’ve been keeping my, smaller, cactus on my walkway. This was to save them from dying in a sudden rain storm if I’m not home to bring them in. I’ve lost several cactus too much water. I’ve decided to reinstate one of my old greenhouse tents. He’s about 2 years old so no flowers yet but Tom’s sprouting this huge leaf in the middle and it’s sort of hard inside so I’m not sure if it’s a few leaves rolled up or the beginning of a flower stalk inside the leaf,🤷♀️! It’s so exciting!! I hope it’s a flower stalk because I feel like I’ve been waiting forever. The 1st photo is a picture of Tom he when I got him.
