Herb’s delivery! I want a little herb wild. 🤪 🌿🌬️ She had some of my favorites in stock, so I had to get them. I wasn’t expecting them to arrive so quickly. So now I’m anxiously awaiting the other mix now. Ugh, this is why people say: plan ahead..🧐🤨. Ain’t foresight just beautiful? 🤦‍♀️😂😅 Live and learn, but please just live, you little herby dudes! Anyone else been getting their herb on? I gotta say, herbs are so much harder for me to do, but only in the winter. And all winter. 🥶 😅 It’s like cinnamon and lavender. I got sweet pea flowers; I love the smell of sweet pea flowers. While they are super toxic to our furry friends, my dogs and cats have shown zero interest. Thank goodness! 😅 We now have sweet pea photos! Anyone growing sweet peas or anything else that smells so yummy and delicious? 😋 Ps- I’m so anxious today 😬 I’m supposed to have my soil delivery and my last thing I need for my water before I water my plants tonight. Ted was so convinced that we were making coffee when I brought out one of our coffee trees; this is a propagation dwarf coffee plant for a friend. But Ted loves to help me make the coffee. He samples all the sweet stuff and sometimes things he gets a bean and spits it out. But Teddy loves to help. Thai con update! I got this beautiful thing probably two months ago now. Was purchased with a freshly unfurled leaf and since then has popped out another. Well, what can I say? I ran out of spots today in my overflow containers, so when my impulse Japanese strawberries came 🍓, I’m so excited, you guys! My Japanese strawberries 🍓 are Momo Ichigo; Kaorino; Akihime; Japanese Angel strawberries. 🍓 So this was the solution to my problem. 🤦‍♀️🤣 My dogs don’t use this old pool anymore. So I drilled holes, filled it, and made it into a hidden strawberry garden in my backyard. 🤣🐝🌸🩵. I’m going to just copy and paste some quick Google definitions on them if anyone is interested. Momo Ichigo (Peach Strawberry - 桃薫): Native to Tokushima, these rare berries have a distinct, subtle peach aroma and flavor. They are highly juicy, mildly sweet, and not overly sugary, delivering an incredibly refreshing profile. Kaorino (かおり野): Translated as "scented field," this award-winning variety from Mie Prefecture is famous for its vibrant floral fragrance and honey-like sweetness. My adorable little niece was over today helping me plant and clean up part of the greenhouse, and she brought some of her plants she needed to transplant. She was so excited to bring them over, and she reminded me I promised her she could have one of my caramel marble philodendrons, so she picked out which one, and I’m now acclimating to house conditions. So when they get back from a family vacation to Greenland (lucky ducks!), she’ll take it home. She told me today when she grows up she wants to be a landscape architect 🤣🫶🏻☺️🌸🐝 I love this girl. I’m sure it will all change when she’s ten, but oh my goodness, I love her. So I built this thing. 😅. No need to describe the layers as you can see lol. The top substrate is coco coir, pine bark, spag moss, some biochar, and a pinch of worm casting. Plants will be planted directly in the substrate, just haven't gotten there yet. Said farewell 👋 to several plants 🪴 today. I’ve loved them through the years but no longer thriving. It took a while to accept letting go. Hopefully all will be picked up today! One in particular I’m going to miss but she deserves a better spot than I can provide is my big SOP. “Pearlita came here 4.5 years ago, just a tiny little thing 🥹🥰. Now so full and long, she needs to hang somewhere special and I don’t have any spots for hanging plants. Hello everyone. This is a photo of my hibiscus plant. It was damaged severely by the extended frost we had here in Central Florida. I thought I had lost it. I cut it down to the ground and saw small green leaves at its base. That was about three months ago. I’m not sure how long these plants live. The Internet says about 5-10 years. I planted this plant 40 years ago in 1986. It has a very extensive root system. It has been hit by frost multiple times through the decades and it’s always managed to survive.
