My Red Siam is in peat, and is 1.5 ft from east with blinds shut. Leggy. I clipped off anemic leaves. I try not to overwater. Iāve had it 3 years. Any suggestions?

Leaves are pretty as long as you can keep it happy. Mine requires very frequent water and a good amount of light. If itās unhappy, the leaves start getting brown inky spots that turn the whole leaf brown quickly. Luckily, new leaves have been unfurling from the middle so itās still lush.

Not pet friendly as most vibrant colored plants share that trait. Glossy dense foliage that makes it a natural centerpiece. Likes bright indirect light and humidity. Not fussy considering how exotic it looks.

Was knocked down from my kitty, I thought dead. Watered it and it came right back!

So far this plant isnāt super happy with me, Iām not sure why. Itās barely growing.
Itās getting medium light so I donāt hini thatās the problem.
The soil it came in just never dries, I let weeks go between watering, itās just always moist, and that makes me nervous about root rot and suffocation.
There is also very contradictory information online about its water requirements. Greg recommends to water super frequently, keeping it moist at all times, but many places recommend the opposite, to let it dry significantly between watering.
So, yeah, confusing.

This one has been through near death and came back strong. Sheās a tough cookie. I let her get thirsty before watering and help keep her soil aerated by poking her soil gently with a chopstick every month or so. Her beautiful red leaves are gorgeous.

This plant and I really donāt get along very well. While I really like his colors, he has been very picky about where he wants to be and he just never really filled in nicely. I see other peopleās full and gorgeous, but Joe here has just been a drama queen!
