Red Emerald Philodendron
About Red Emerald Philodendron
Philodendrons grow aerial roots that grip the bark of trees, allowing them to grow over 20 feet tall! Their leaves change shape as they climb and can grow larger than a dinner plate. Fossils show Philodendrons growing as far back as 30 million years ago when South America was still connected to Antarctica! ❄️

How to fertilize Red Emerald Philodendron
Most potting soils come with ample nutrients which plants use to produce new growth.
By the time your plant has depleted the nutrients in its soil it’s likely grown enough to need a larger pot anyway.
To replenish this plant's nutrients, repot your Red Emerald Philodendron after it doubles in size or once a year—whichever comes first.

Got this gorgeous propagated baby Philodendron. Excited to get her adjusted to our new place next week. Also she’s my first Philo so if anyone has tips about caring for her at this stage I’d love to hear em! #HappyFriday #PropagationStation #NewPlantMom #PlantCorner

(Repost) What is Twilight? 'Rojo Congo', POO, 'Red Sun', etc? I made a repost because I was almost certain my original post was buried, plus I did some more digging to try to find out what the heck Twilight was. In this repost, each image has a number (so it becomes a lot easier to discuss). In the text, I will add a number in parenthesis to determine which picture to refer to. My closest guess was 'Rojo Congo', but I don't think it's fully accurate (See 5 for 'Rojo Congo' description). You see, Twilight seemingly wants to climb or crawl because there are aerial roots extending from the stem into the ground, maintaining a mostly horizontal (2) shape rather than upright ('Rojo Congo' trait, 5). Plus, her leaves are arrowhead-shaped (1 and 3) like the 'Rojo Congo' (5). To add to difficulty, her new leaf isn't unfurled completely yet, so we cannot be sure on color (4). What do you guys think? I'm already quite stumped. #happyplants #plantsmakepeoplehappy #plantaddict #planttherapy #plantcorner #plantlove #iloveplants #newgrowth #planttlc #greggang #adhdplantlovers #plantid #whatismyplant #philodendron #blushingphilodendron #philodendronprinceoforange #philodendronredsun #philodendronrojocongo

Blushing Philodendron, Prince of Orange, or something else? This is not a new plant, but anyway: I saw a new leaf coming in, and then I wondered: what is this thing? I guessed blushing philodendron a while back, but I literally can't tell. The new leaf is a shade that I can't really tell between being pink and reddish-orange. Also, I noticed one of the leaves had these orange spots. I almost think blushing philodendron, but I literally can't tell at this point. By the way, I moved her next to Biophilia because she showed no signs of pests or disease for the month or so that I've had her. #happyplants #plantsmakepeoplehappy #plantaddict #planttherapy #plantcorner #plantlove #iloveplants #newgrowth #planttlc #greggang #adhdplantlovers #plantid

Is it okay to use both good and mediocre soil for one plant? I repotted Twilight because her pot was a little bit busted, and her soil quality was poor looking. Her new pot is roughly the same size, and I added a bamboo stick to climb on. I was short on my usual potting soil, which is Miracle-Gro potting mix, so I 'borrowed' some seemingly mediocre soil from an unused pot and layered it on top. So, the top layer is the borrowed soil, and the bottom layer is the potting mix, basically. To add detail, the mediocre soil is coarse and was previously used by succulents, but it doesn't seem to hold a lot of nutrients. Is this okay? I want to know what you guys think. #happyplants #plantsmakepeoplehappy #plantaddict #planttherapy #plantcorner #plantlove #iloveplants #newgrowth #planttlc #greggang #adhdplantlovers #philodendron

It's never too late to buy a plant! I bought this plant at a store for $40 USD. I'm welcoming Twilight! There isn't a label on the pot for species, so my best guess was Blushing Philodendron. Am I right? This is my first Philodendron, so I'll need some care tips. Tomorrow or the day after, I'll repot and add some support (it looks like it wants to climb something). #happyplants #plantsmakepeoplehappy #plantaddict #planttherapy #plantcorner #plantlove #iloveplants #newgrowth #planttlc #greggang #adhdplantlovers #plantid #whatismyplant

4 all pink leaves on PPP. Would you chop or hope for new growth at previous chop point? I chopped it about a month ago due to the leaves not unfurling. The leaves unfurl now, they're just all pink😂😅 #HappyPlants #PlantsMakePeopleHappy #PlantAddict #Philodendron #PinkPrincessPhilodendron #PinkPlantsofGreg #NewGrowth

They arrived in perfect condition. My heart just 💕 swelled with joy. I posted his Etsy shop above.
