Help! My monstera has mushrooms.

I got home after being out of town for two weeks and found these mushrooms growing in my monstera soil. From what I read, they’re not harmful. Anyone have experience with this?? It has four new leaves coming out (see picture) so I think it’s okay but I’m worried. Thanks!! #HappyPlants #PlantsMakePeopleHappy #PlantAddict #NewGrowth #PlantTherapy #MonsteraMonday #PlantCorner #PestControl

@WhollyCutgrass I agree with @LargeKatsura26 Mushrooms growing in the Monstera soil are generally a sign of healthy, nutrient-rich soil and a sign of a happy, thriving mini-ecosystem. They aren't harmful to the plant and can even be beneficial, breaking down organic matter and returning nutrients to the soil. However, they can also indicate that the soil is overwatered or very moist. Here's a more detailed explanation:
Beneficial:
Fungi, including mushrooms, are natural decomposers that break down organic matter in the soil, releasing nutrients that the plant can absorb.
Healthy Soil:
The presence of mushrooms can indicate a healthy, rich soil environment.
Overwatering:
Mushrooms thrive in moist environments, so their growth can also signal that the soil is holding too much moisture, potentially leading to root rot if not addressed. Not a Cause for Alarm:
While they may be visually unappealing to some, mushrooms are generally harmless to the plant and can be left in place or removed without affecting the plant's health.
Consider the Plant's Needs:
If you notice mushrooms, it's a good idea to assess the soil moisture and adjust your watering schedule accordingly, especially if the soil is consistently damp. Hope this helps, Happy Growing!!
From my understanding mushrooms in plant soil usually just means either the soil is rich in nutrients and might mean it’s overwatered. As long as it’s not a dangerous mushroom it’s alright to remove with your hands if it bothers you, just make sure to use gloves to avoid spreading the spores. We had that exact mushroom in our snake plant and it went away after awhile, didn’t harm the plant at all.
I think you may be keeping the soil too moist. I added perlite to mine. Just a suggestion
