Hey everyone! I know this is a long shot, but there's a nursery called San Marcos Growers in Santa Barbara, CA that recently shut down their operations. They're still selling off remaining inventory, including a Tradescantia sillamontana variety called "Huasteca Canyon" they originally collected in the wild in Mexico. And no one else on the planet seems to have it!
They're no longer shipping plants, so they can only be picked up in person. So if anyone lives in that area who would be willing to help me out with this, please let me know! I'd of course send you all necessary funds and shipping costs, and also reimburse you for your time. Myself and a few other members of the US-based Tradescantia community would be eternally grateful and forever in your debt ๐๐ผ Thank you!!

@DreamMachine thanks Nadia! ๐ Yeah, I figured it was worth a shot. A lady I'm friends with through the trad subreddit who lives in Indiana has been trying to get them since December without any luck. Marion was actually the first person I thought to ask, but when I looked up the distance from her place to this nursery it was way too far โน๏ธ But @MariansOasis , if you know anyone close to Santa Barbara who might be up for it, please let me know! ๐ฅฐ

@stephongreg hi! Been sick ๐คง the last 3 days so Iโm just seeing this ๐ฎโ๐จ. I would so be there for you but Santa Barbara is 4 hours away ๐ข. Iโll be heading to Paso Robles Labor Day weekend so if they still have any Iโd be willing to take the coast road up thru SB. Itโs a beautiful plant!! I wonder if you could hire like a personal shopper for a day. You can pay someone to walk your dog, or feed your fish, there should be someone who would do some shopping & shipping for you, you would think, right?!? ๐คช ๏ฟผ
@MariansOasis oh wow, that would be amazing Marion!! They just updated their inventory spreadsheet and it says they still have 32 of them in stock. They're $5 each and come in 1 gallon buckets ๐ณ I hadn't thought of trying something like that, great idea! It might be doable through an app like Taskrabbit. I'm going to look into it! ๐๐ผ๐ฅฐ
