I normally don’t do a veggie garden at my house and generally stick to growing fruits and herbs, but this year I decided to reuse some retired recycled old bins. I lost like half the screws, and they look utterly terrible. Luckily, no one can see them in my backyard behind my old shed (built in 1947) and my greenhouse. I was worried about finding a way to keep my blackberries away from tomatoes and/or my raspberries away from them as well. Being in the nightshade family, they will not grow well together. 😬🤦♀️ With that being said, I’m so excited, we are already getting peppers, we have the cutest tiny orange tomatoes. With a bell pepper 🫑 that looks like the cutest little bum cheeks you wanna pinch! 🤏 or a giant green tooth. 🦷 😂 But the patch next to them, as some needs I needed to plant up.. so we’ll see, purple broccoli, artichokes, and some crock neck lumpy squash (my favorite thing to fry up in summer). @Idplantthat I've gotten more into cactus recently bc they grow so slow. Beautiful plants. I planted 20 different pepper plants this year. Hubby kept saying no more and I would sneak and buy more 🤣 I don't even like peppers. I'm excited to see the purple bell peppers
@planthoe40 ha ha ha you are after my own heart! 💜 I’m right there with you, somehow plants just keep showing up and growing here. My husband finally just said okay, I know you won’t stop. But as long as you don’t ask me to do it then okay. 🤣 (he still helps) but doesn’t really get it and just goes you have a problem.. and I smile and say “..and you love it!..” 🥰 “..if only someone told you before we got married.. oh wait I did!” 🤣 he genuinely just laughs and walks away and then a new plant shows up 🤣🩵 I mean that’s love right! 🤔
@planthoe40 ooh! Do you have bells or are these the dark purples? Have you heard of the Thai volcanic purple peppers they grow like black? It’s wild, and I’m like that with tomatoes—not a big fan—but I love the colors and look. 👀 Same with bananas. Ha ha 🤣
@Idplantthat I showed my hubby your oasis yesterday bf star it made mine seem downright TINY! 😉 You must just be watering and fussing with plants non stop…it looks pretty heavenly 🙌
I bought purple bell pepper plants from a store called Roses. I had seen a reel on Facebook and the guy had purple bell peppers. They were so pretty and then I seen a plant at Rose's so I had to buy it right? No I have never heard of those but maybe I need to look on etsy next year. My neighbor told me that the ornamental peppers plants they sell at Lowe's the peppers are hotter than a carolina reaper and a ghost pepper together. I might need to buy hubby one this year.
@debbiedo you’re so sweet!! I am a daily person, but I have to avoid much sun. 🤣 Makes it a little tricky. But I’m a barefoot planter, my poor plants. I’m always climbing in and around them. I definitely didn’t think out the love of big plants well. Ha ha ha I’m not a person who does small-scale well. If you ever want to say, “See, I don’t have the hoarding problem some people have,” 🤣 I’m your girl.

There’s a store that specializes in super hot peppers 🌶️ like don’t pick or cut without gloves 🧤 they don’t wash off… my girlfriend on an anniversary dinner with her husband made the mistake of cutting some without gloves needles to say their evening was short when she touched her own skin and her husband they both started burning 🥵 so ER visits were the ending of that anniversary. 😹 I told her, as I was laughing I made that mistake once and that’s all it took was one time to never do it again. I grow peppers year-round in my garage and herbs in my house in winter. But I start them in fall and transplant into larger containers right before winter. If you can it’s a better way than buying from the store. Plants that are grown from seeds are made with an extra layer of wax on them, where seedlings started in greenhouses do not, and are not as strong as seed-grown. Just if you didn’t know. ☺️ but I do a lot of growing of edible plants. I love to grow things 🤣

Did you have to go to the hospital?? 🏥 I’m glad you are laughing 😂 how do you even work that into a conversation without busting up a little. 🤷♀️ and just going don’t even ask.. 😅🤣🤣 I never got seeds stuck but I fair share I’ve done that before. 😉🥸🧐
