The Jabuticaba is a tropical shrub to tree native to Brazil and Bolivia. It is most recognizable by the large, spherical, dark purple fruits that grow directly from its trunk. These fruits are often found in Brazilian markets and are delicious raw or cooked. This plant grows best in full sun to part shade and rich, moist, well-drained soil. It can be grown as a container plant or as bonsai.

Most potting soils come with ample nutrients which plants use to produce new growth.

To replenish this plant's nutrients, repot your Jabuticabeira after it doubles in size or once a year—whichever comes first.
