How to fertilize Pinguicula agnata gypsicola
Most potting soils come with ample nutrients which plants use to produce new growth.
By the time your plant has depleted the nutrients in its soil it’s likely grown enough to need a larger pot anyway.
To replenish this plant's nutrients, repot your Pinguicula agnata gypsicola after it doubles in size or once a year—whichever comes first.

#Pinguicula question: What is the best type to get? I live in an area with lots of sun, lots of trees, lots of bugs, freshwater lakes, and boys that have no concept of shutting the doors. I have flies and fruit flies (and wasps and dirt daubers and horseflies- but I think those are too big for the little plants) zone 7b Thanks, y'all!! #PinguiculaAgnataGypsicola #PinguiculaEhlersiae #PinguiculaEmarginata #PinguiculaCyclosecta #PinguiculaMoctezumae #Butterwort #PestControl #CarnivorousPlants #CarnivorousClub

Leaf care? Repotting today but should I trim back the brown leaves? Also setting up a pebble tray and monitoring light and water to try and get her back on track. Not sure what to do about the browning leaves in the meantime? Any thoughts welcome! TIA 💚💛🪴

FEED ME, SEYMOUR PART 2 - THE RECIPE #cpclubthursday So here is my dried CP meal recipe that I use as a way to give my CPs an occasional treat when there is no live prey for them. Recipe Cricket Powder 🦗 Dried Mealworms 🐛 Gelatine 💧 So I grind up the dry mealworms so they are crushed into a powder and mix them with the cricket powder. Then I add some water to make a watery paste. Finally I add gelatine to make it into a watery goo. I make sure there is at least a little water in the pitchers of my Nepenthes or Cephalotus pitchers etc and if they are completely dry, I add a little distilled water but not too much as it will dilute any digestive juices too much and make the task of the CP to digest a lot harder. I make sure the CP meal is liquid enough that I can use a syringe 💉 so I can inject it into the pitchers, onto the traps (making sure I set them off initially and later gently massage them so they are constrict. I use it like a toothpaste tube to add a layer of onto sundew, butterworts (pings) and other sticky leaf varieties of CPs. And then I watch my CPs enjoy the added boost to their diet (like taking a protein shake or multivitamins) Does anyone else have a recipe to share below? Or comments? Criticisms? #HappyPlants #PlantsMakePeopleHappy #PlantAddict #PropagationStation #GrowLights #cpclubthursday #theamigos #Seymour #CarnivorousPlants #CarnivorousClub #VenusFlyTrap #GregGang #PLANTMAFIA #Sarracenia #PitcherPlant #Sundew #cephalotusclub #RarePlant

Nothing's up she's just slaying 💅🏻 I saw no thread on this plant so I decided to start one (I might be wrong, I'm new to the app 🤣). That being said, I'm having some issues deciding where to place her; everything I read suggests full - partial sun but I'm getting burnt or black leaves in either 🥲. If anyone has some advice it's highly appreciated!

CP CLUB THURSDAY for AUGUST 29 2024 #cpclubthursday #Seymour 🌸 🌺 THE FLOWERS of CPs 🌺 🌸 Welcome to #cpclubthursday Thursday AUGUST the 29th, 2024 🌟NEARLY 175 MEMBERS !🌟 FEATURE: 🌸 🌺 CP flowers 🌺 🌸 Firstly I think I learnt something new today and you can all confirm or correct me! In Australia we consider the start of Spring (which is the opposite to your Fall/Autumn so far as the calendar year) commences in a few days on the first day of September and ends on the last day of November (so based on a 3 month season cycle) . However I understand that in the US or UK, for instance, the new season of Fall/Autumn doesn’t occur until September 20th based on eg fall/autumn equinox. Is this correct? It means we will have 20 days of spring before your fall/autumn season commences (not that it necessarily matters so much these days given the way climate records are getting broken! We just had the hottest day in Winter recently, over 107’F or 41’C https:// Why do I mention this? Because I am looking forward to spring here in Perth, Australia to watch the CPs end their dormancy and starting into growing and flowering (save for those CPs that flower in winter). But I also know “Winter is coming” or at least Fall/Autumn in the Northern Hemisphere so maybe there’s an opportunity to see any CP flowers members of the #cpclubthursday they’d like to share. All CPs are flowering plants (unless someone knows an exception) and, as this part of an article points out, it’s very clever what CPs do and why: “Carnivorous plants use a variety of strategies to lure prey into their traps. Some produce strong-smelling nectar and have intense colouration that mimic flowers. Others camouflage themselves seamlessly into their surroundings so that victims blunder into them. The intense colouration of trapping organs can give the impression that they are flowers when they are, in fact, ingeniously adapted leaves. Carnivorous plants keep prey separate from useful pollinating insects by growing their real flowers at the end of long stalks, which blossom as far as possible from tempting and deadly digestive organs” https:// So why not share your CP flowers below?👇 I have added many posts about the conditions and care of various CPs in previous #cpclubthursday so I recommend people follow the hashtag, may of them also have my own group #seymour so may be easier to find there. Add any interesting Carnivorous Plant (CP) facts, photos, or anything CP-related for this week. Or ask a question of our members related to CPs Join the CP just by clicking the link #cpclubthursday and clicking join. That is all it takes! Too easy! Shall we make it to 180 members ? There is already a wealth of CP so why not just join our growing CP community at #cpclubthursday! Happy Chompys 😊🪰🦟🚫 #cpclubthursday #carnivorousplants #carnivorousclub #venusflytrap #sarracenia #pinguicula #nepenthes #plantsmakepeoplehappy #plantaddict #happyplants #greggang #seymour #theamigos #Pinguicula #butterwort #NewGrowth #PropagationStation #GrowLights #Sundew #ForkedSundew #SpoonLeavedSundew #Drosera #CapeSundew #PLANTMAFIA I ch I floweringer ever evereverCPs do and
