Phalaenopsis Bellina Orchid
About Phalaenopsis Bellina Orchid
Phalaenopsis orchids get their name from the Greek 'phalaina' meaning moth, as their flowers are thought to resemble moth or butterfly wings! 🦋 Once their flowers have blossomed, they will eventually die but the plant will live one and continue to produce new flower spikes throughout its life. Orchid flowers evolved to attract pollinators and ther unique shape helps keep insects safe while collecting and dispersing pollen! 🐝

How to fertilize Phalaenopsis Bellina Orchid
Most potting soils come with ample nutrients which plants use to produce new growth.
By the time your plant has depleted the nutrients in its soil it’s likely grown enough to need a larger pot anyway.
To replenish this plant's nutrients, repot your Phalaenopsis Bellina Orchid after it doubles in size or once a year—whichever comes first.

Bellina spike happy sap Normally my dendrobium secundum is my big leaker of happy sap, but this Bellina coerulea’s new spike has been oozing it like nobody’s business (It has no pests, it’s just a little dusty… I blew it off after but this was a better shot of the sap) #OrchidLovers #PhalaenopsisOrchid #PhalaenopsisBellinaOrchid #PhalaenopsisBellinaCoerulea #HappySap #FloweringPlants

Do I repot now or wait? 🌸 I got this orchid recently and it was planted in this substrate that feels really tough—I have a bark mix I would like to repot it in, but it still has one bloom left—is it best to go ahead and repot now anyway due to the mix it’s in, or does it seem healthy enough that I should wait until the last bloom drops? ~ (I’m sorry if the pictures are sideways like they show for me, it keeps doing that for some reason!) #HappyPlants #PlantsMakePeopleHappy #PlantAddict #PhalaenopsisOrchid #Phalaenopsis #OrchidLovers #PlantTherapy #PlantLove

Is this orchid in soil?? I just bought this orchid on clearance from Kroger and I’m wondering, is this planted in soil?? It doesn’t look like any mix I’ve ever seen an orchid planted in before and it feels really solid and like it’s kinda in chunks—I’m unsure if it’s soil or some kind of dark moss I’ve just not seen before! (I’m sorry if the photos are sideways as they’re shown for me, it keeps doing that for some reason!) #HappyPlants #PlantsMakePeopleHappy #PlantAddict #PlantTherapy #PhalaenopsisOrchid #Phalaenopsis #OrchidLovers
