Finding light for Mickey Mouse Taro in your home

a window
Mouse Cup may have difficulty thriving, and will drop leaves 🍃, without ample sunlight.
Place it less than 3 feet from a south-facing window to maximize the potential for growth.
Select your region to see how the current weather in your area affects the placement of Mouse Cup in your home 🏡.
How to fertilize Mouse Cup

Most potting soils come with ample nutrients which plants use to produce new growth.
By the time your plant has depleted the nutrients in its soil it’s likely grown enough to need a larger pot anyway.
To replenish this plant's nutrients, repot your Mouse Cup after it doubles in size or once a year—whichever comes first.

Taro has brown tips No matter how often I spritz my mickey mouse taro the tips of the leaves invariably get brown and crunchy. Im watering it every 5/6 days. What am I doing wrong? What does this terrible plant want from me!!!

Self watering pots for alocasia? Looking for opinions/ perspectives on the use of self watering pots for alocasia? I've got an issue with humidity/extreme dryness in my house because of the heat and fireplace going basically around the clock so my watering schedule is guess work at best? I did some research on alocasia and all signs point to "heavy drinkers," so I put my black velvet and my Mickey Mouse each in their own self watering pot. I am just getting nervous despite no real signs/symptoms of overwatering or distress that this is a bad idea. Opinions? #alocasiaaddicts #alocasia #selfwateringplanter

Is neem oil enough? Is neem oil enough to treat spider mites? I just noticed some on my Mickey and basically drowned it in neem oil spray and know to keep an eye on it and spray every 2-3 days, but is neem oil enough or should I be using something else too? Also: look! She's throwing a new leaf! Aaaaaand I'd be remiss to say I HIGHLY fear spiders so my anxiety is through the roof 🤦♀️🤣

Why are my leaves so..SAD? Hi all, been struggling with my Mickey Mouse taro 😩 it had gorgeous big, well variegated leaves. Then I moved it to pon. Then it got spider mites. So I treated it with insecticidal spray and have been using neem as a preventative. The leaves now though are coming out very small and very crinkly. Any ideas how to encourage it to it's former glory?? #taro #alocasia #thatalaskalife (just sprayed, forgive the droplets!)

Wilting Leaves on my Mickey Mouse Alocasia #MickeyMouseTaro #alocasiaaddicts Hello, I am still new to indoor plants so I am not sure what my plant needs at the moment. I noticed one of the leaves starting to brown around the top edge so I moved it to a brighter area but that leaf's stalk is now wilting.

#HappyPlants #PlantsMakePeopleHappy #PlantAddict #NewGrowth #PropagationStation #evilgenius I did a Thing…. Completely by accident but this little guy is very quickly becoming my favourite plant. A couple months ago I got hold of 2 Mickey Mouse xanthasoma juveniles, one had 2 growth points and a long enough stem with roots growing in opposite directions on each end. I naturally did the only thing I could and chopped it in half and Ta Daaaa 3 plants!! However I completely forgot about Bonsai 101…. Because I snipped the stem when the smallest one was barely a green triangle sticking out (if they weren’t bare rooted I wouldn’t have seen the second growth point) so when I snipped it, the plant decided it must be Forever Smol and now I have an accidental bonsai Mickey Mouse xanthasoma the size of a dwarf syngonium 🥰😍🤣 how’s that for some #madscientist crazy plant experimenting 😜 sometimes you succeed, sometimes you kill plants experimenting and other times you get something wonderful and completely unexpected 😊 And I shall call him Squishy 😏

Saying some prayers and testing my plant powers this weekend. So I ordered a #MickeyMouseTaro online and I wanted to cry when I opened the box. I have giant taros and alocasias so I’m comfortable with these plants, but I’ve never started with a nearly dead plant. So 🤞 time to see if I have magical powers. I planted in a small clear pot since the root ball is tiny and trimmed off the dead limb so the weight distribution wouldn’t be off. If anyone has experience with this level of damage I’d love to hear your experience or commiseration.

Good morning #GregGang!!!! I’m going to call this my #TuesdayTriumph post 🎉 I ordered a #MickeyMouseTaro way back on Feb 10th. That poor plant wasn’t shipped properly. It wasn’t secured in anyway, arrived w/ broken stems, & dehydrated leaves & soil 😩. I requested a replacement and still tried to revive this one. Replacement arrived last week, same story. This one was bigger too 💔😭. I got a refund and tried to revive, same steps as the last. IT’S WORKING (only on the 2nd, I’m sure that first one is ✌️). In just one day I saw a new shoot and on day two you can see a leaf 😍 pics below, as well as an apt gardening saying. Never give up #Greggers! #HappyPlants #PlantAddict #variegatedplants #NewGrowth #GrowLights #Greenhouse
