Finding light for Maidenhair Fern in your home
a window
Maidenhair Fern may have difficulty thriving, and will drop leaves 🍃, without ample sunlight.
Place it less than 3 feet from a south-facing window to maximize the potential for growth.
Select your region to see how the current weather in your area affects the placement of Maidenhair Fern in your home 🏡.
How to fertilize Maidenhair Fern
Most potting soils come with ample nutrients which plants use to produce new growth.
By the time your plant has depleted the nutrients in its soil it’s likely grown enough to need a larger pot anyway.
To replenish this plant's nutrients, repot your Maidenhair Fern after it doubles in size or once a year—whichever comes first.

Hey there, sorry for the sub par photos, but any advice on these little guys would be much appreciated! It seemed that it started to spore shortly after I got it, then I developed what I believe to be a mite problem. Anyway, thanks a million! #MaidenHairFern

Should I chop all the dried fronds in hopes of new growth? I’m on a rescue mission 😅 I’ve repotted it so that I could check the roots and from what I can tell, they look pretty good to me (not mushy, just dark brown or black, which I hope is normal). I sprayed the roots with peroxide in case there was any rot that I missed and removed the netting that was around the base. I also chopped some of the yellow leaves/fronds but left the green ones. The green ones are completely dried out too but I wasn’t sure if they’d still be photosynthesizing or not, what do you think? Should I chop these too and hope the plant puts out new fronds or leave them be? Also, more generally, do you think this is salvageable? And if so, any other advice on how to bring it back? 😅 #MaidenHairFern #RescuePlants #PlantAddict #planthelp #help
